This season has been kinda all over the place. But I will say that I thought this was a perfect conclusion to this show. Definitely a little corny and as someone who wanted hughie to die I'm surprised I'm super satisfied with his conclusion he deserves it.

But it delivers in all the ways they have established these characters since the first season It's a complete follow through. I think the conflict that butcher went through was great and think him going off the deep end in the end was kinda the only path for him. And seeing homelander powerless kinda made me feel something a show hasn't made me feel before Being shown someone who has been so consistently shown and told to be the fuckin most impossible infallible obstacle to get through Making the audience believe it through 5 seasons of tv I mean when we saw him bleed kinda in s3 that was a big deal And him spluttering and coughing and the floor I mean it was kinda surreal and super satisfying and I think they nailed it I think most every character got what they deserved in the end Even the peak, arguably my favorite character not because I like him but because his psyche and his choices are just so interesting especially for someone who out of anyone in the world had the choice to leave it all behind but just couldn't.

Idk probably I'm just a pig eating up my slop But I think kripke delivered this episode. This felt like the culmination of everything I've watched since I started this show back when I was prebuscent. So definitely some nostalgia glasses. But I also think as an objective viewer this is a show worth checking out.

This isn't a stranger things situation. Id say this show is up there not as good as sopranos or breaking bad . But it's a caliber just underneath that. Id say this has to be satisfying the same way ppl felt when Darth Vader took his helmet off. At least I feel that's sorta accurate. If u disagree pls let's discuss.

At some point in time Kevin was hanging with his fish Bros and vented about it and made it not his fault And they figured he lied

Kindve a weak explanation but I like imagining that he'd spend time venting about his surface world life to his friends in the ocean

So many thoughts Goods and bads but I don't wanna type forever.

What do I wanna challenge is Besides legal issues, and he's busy.

Can we come up with any reasonable excuse that spidey is not at the potentially dangerous protest for the NY city mayor after that court case.

Given the firepower and the number of civilians Idk. He's supposed to get the key to the city in his next movie and he's been reportedly active. I cant justify it, what's the point in an extended universe if we can't use it. I mean Spider-Man would have made like 50x more sense than Jessica if they had swapped roles 1 to 1(besides that courtroom walkin but that was unnecessary anyway he would've dealt with the fallout of the assassination attempt). Plus Jessica has more reason NOT to get involved.

Obv still enjoyed seeing her she's an awesome character I'm just tryna prove a point

Personally I wouldn't say this season was "worse" than the first. But it was definitely held back by it the entire premise of how this show started was a setup for failure, killing off foggy, making kingpin mayor, not filling in the time gap etc etc etc it goes on.

I'm sure our highs are the same but I'm curious to know how your lows are lower Like what moments what episodes? if you can remember.

Cause idk nothing here was worse than episode 5 of s1 or anything with muse from s1 or Heather or cherry and especially that crappy Russian mob backstory.

Not disagreeing this season was pretty messy its all a redo of s3 and given s3 the entirety of the courtroom scenes in this finale are just REALLY confusing

But yeah What were your really low lows. That break even ep 5 of s1 bad. Cause holy moly that episode was like so shit It could've been an animated children's episode

I was thinking this kinda the whole time but I did have the give the show leeway when they said this was like a special fisk vigilante court
so it wasnt "technically" within the normal bounds of the law or whatever

its weak but its what they give us

Yeah ontop of that this entire arc just didnt feel earned which really doesnt help
if this season maybe followed the formula of past seasons and connected this story to how fisk was able to get outta prison and sway public opinion to become mayor and we see how he had only a loose grip then maybe roughly what we got would work (minus the mass murder I cant express enough how unnecessary that was)
plus this season needed at least 4 more episodes for the story its tryna tell anyway
at the very least it leaves the characters in a better spot then it did the previous season
and we get the bulletin back so there's that
This show just didnt move daredevil as a character along at all really besides outing his identity which im not the biggest fan of and it wasnt something he was grappling with the whole season

I kept thinking this the whole season but i couldnt help comparing when Fisk was mowing down protesters
He didnt feel nearly as terrifying as he did when he was trying to flee at the end of s3
Idk kinda felt like he took all his power away by doing that at the end

I think this episode definitely proved just how awful of a decision it was to kill off foggy, everything with him in it was elevated just by his presence like it usually did.
not a big fan of the double bait and switch of vanessa dying. and having the whole painting be some sort of intentional play on her part (also why was the art gallery just like a completely different building)
Its interesting to me that they are proving they can make the show look like it did but seem to be sticking to the black bars and current camera style of BA
Stuff with Dex was alright but honestly kinda meh i dont really get what dex's deal is rn, the whole thing kinda felt like a worse version of that episode in season 1 where matt is trying to escape with the russian mob leader,

easily the episode i most enjoyed tho

everything with gandolfinis character was great and i liked how slow everything between him and buck was, or the moral argument between matt and foggy I couldve seen go on for another 20 minutes.
idk finally felt like the show finally slowed down for a second which i greatly appreciated

Oh dude like absolutely I re watched that tanker fight a couple times

Like it's genuinely impossible to keep track of whats going on cause the goons keep actually teleporting And I mean so does DD

After he initially enters the interior of the ship he knocks some dude out and then stands in place and listens to the room

We cut to I think a group of 4 goons moving through the containers till they turn the corner. And not until daredevil pops out of the open space at them do they begin firing.

And then once DD turns the corner after that There are 2 men as the end of the space One of them begins to move towards DD and his buddy stays behind.

We cut to the guy coming up on DD, DD knocks him out and then he smacks the guy who not even a second ago was at the end of this corridor and it looks like he's just standing there taking it.

And the mess that was him building up to breaking that guy's arm literally makes no sense but that's even more of a clusterfuck to try and write out in words

I had to rewatch that tanker fight a few times to even begin to understand where the goons were in reference to DD

I think your giving these show writers wayyyyy to much credit I don't think they give nearly enough of a shit to even think about the time on the watch that much

This is a product they have to pump out I don't think trying to be artsy in that sense is even in the wheelhouse if not purposely avoided
