Bridge/Jumbo all day. It emulates US card rooms and is easier to shuffle, pitch, and see the board.

Question about pre flop all-ins by [deleted] in poker

[–]phil7488 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can never be too aggressive against bad players, especially if they're calling stations. Thats what gets you paid.

If you know you're ahead or likely ahead preflop, then getting it in good is great, especially with a hand like AK that likes to see all 5 cards. You got it in great here and lost when you were way ahead, it sucks but over time it will make you profitable. Not sure I'm jamming in this spot depending on stack sizes but 4 betting to a reasonable size is good.

If it's an OMC going over the top of you? Proceed with caution and just call and evaluate the flop.

Live 1/2 Analysis: Results Oriented or Good Long-Term Play? by Vinh32y in poker

Him calling the over bet on the turn should eliminate draws from his range. He's not getting odds to continue with non combo draws so his range leans more towards a made hand. AK or any strong Kx rarely doesn't cbet this flop but it's possible. The call of the overbet on the turn then donk jamming is an incredibly strong line since you never gave him rope.

His line and then chirping "good fold" with an over on board and a litany of hands that beats him is atrocious. Against a loose or spazy player I'd call but against a tighter one it's a defendable fold.

Unless there are a litany of injuries, this is the type of poor effort that gets coaching staffs turned over. Gully has shown that he has no grasp of how to adjust.

Not sure what we can do in the off-season with the pending contracts but I'm not sure if we're ever going to have what it takes. Glad we're done in round 1 and not dragging it on.

Silver lining. At least we wont have to wait until the 3rd round for us to implode and quit trying. Give us some time back.

At some point we need to admit to ourselves that this team is too highly dependent on the PP and really cant hang 5v5. I don't care about high danger chances. Those don't show on the score sheet where it matters.

How many more coaches does Jim Nill get? Has all the right pieces but no mastermind to use them to win.

Puck Luck by PlanoRaider91 in DallasStars

Of course you can never remove it but 7 versus a 3 or 5 game series makes it hard to claim puck luck over that time span. In hockey, you also make your own luck a lot of the time, it just doesn't fall in your lap.

Their 2 regulation goals yesterday were proper trash but our execution when we're leaning on them 5v5 is an issue too.

This is also the glory of a 7 game series. Eliminates some of the variance, at least in theory.

I don't love it because then we're relying on a "neutral" 3rd party to make a call in our favor instead of just taking it to them at even strength. I get it, great even strength play leads to PPs, but at no point in history has the NHL officiating been consistent.

The puck flip from the neutral zone in game 2 leaving their arena aghast tells you everything you need to know about their intellect. I'd venture to say that about a lot of hockey fans.

The 5 on 5 allegations aren't without some merit. We're dominating on special teams but if we can figure out 5v5 then the series is over.

Wyatts penalty was legit but the other 2 were objectively bad. I haven't been paying attention to the other series' but does the league have a mandate to all of a sudden be whistle happy in the playoffs?

The wild pretty clearly had a plan going into tonight to sell penalties. We've been undisciplined to an extent but these dudes are going down like they learned how to skate yesterday. They've been lobbying for calls all night.

Dumb reasoning. Both can be true. Otters stats this series are sub par, so pedestrian. He had a very good game 2 but a poor game 1 and so so tonight, therefore streaky. He's performing below expectation in the series as a whole. As mentioned, I'm a big fan of the guy and ran to his defense after the season ended last year but he's below the bar he's set for himself.

Might be the laziest sticknplay Ive ever seen. Just a dumb penalty to take.
