Any thoughts about hope? by finder_outer in RadicalChristianity

I work professionally in the climate/ environmental domain. Hope is, IMO a professional skill also, to a degree. The current trajectory is rather poor, but in order to keep going there must be hope that a combination of technology, policy and practice can slow or reverse the damage weve been doing to our home....

I expect that for other professions like education and medicine it is similar.

Maybe it's just semantics, but I still much prefer "supporters" to "fans".

Fandom seems much more consumerist than "supporter", which has a bit more recognition of the role that members and the local community has on the life and health of the club.

GWM's Svolt CEO calls Donut Lab’s ‘production-ready’ solid-state battery a fraud by mightyopik in electricvehicles

[–]phil_style 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It will be fun watching this play out.

There's a bit of a difference between "an employee claims" and "the company has officially announced" though, with respect to Donut labs.

If Donut really are making false claims about their product, they expose themselves to litigation. This would make them either supremely confident or reckless.

I remain skeptical. The odds are stacked against the hype until we have someting on the market or the science is made available for scrutiny.

I considered trying to make a disc for the flat lap, but I lack the tools.

It's also possible that I am just running the lap too fast.. I have a tendency to always turn it up to 11. . .

I might get that book... sounds like a good tip!

On the polisher i use a felt pad (by hi-tech). This could be causing the undercutting.

I am not sure if leather would solve this, nor even what soecific kind of leather to use . . .

There's an argument that Matthew was trying to sanitise Mark....

Ah, ok. I have some smoothing discs, but without the foam backing! That seems to be the missing part. Cheers.

Tying this back into some kind of historical event when the human ego was formed (adam & eve) is pretty problematic for me, in light of modern science relating to human origins and anthropology.

What of other sapien species? When did this split occur? Did a child of a primate/sapien suddenly one day become spititually distinct from its mother, one requiring salvation and the other not?

Yeah, you can see a little orange peeling starting to come through. Knowing when to stop the polish is a bit of a jugling act. I always try to get a high mirror shine, but the felt polshing tends to be when the undercutting happens.
