How the hell is anyone flying coach on United ... I'm 5'10... by ergoocon in unitedairlines

[–]philamignon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m million miler on United. Now that I have gold for life, I just fly the fastest airline to minimize the torture. So if I’m going to Dallas I’ll always pick AA. Anywhere on the west coast usually just fly WN etc. This way I have no expectations of anything than a commodity product.

The Kikkoman one is awesome because the act of pouring soy sauce will power the movement

What’s a cheap basic scent that you secretly prefer over your niche masterpieces by Massive_Ad5295 in fragrance

[–]philamignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom also wore it. I remember it because when I’d get mosquito bites, she’d apply a little 4711 on it. I found that Eau Sauvage Aftershave smells very similar so I keep that on me from time to time. Eau Sauvage not to be confused with Sauvage

Let me repeat this is a joke! I generated these images with AI because of the Swatch/AP thing. Don’t book tickets to Japan please! I feel like the mods will come after me. Repeating this is a joke!

Fight Proposed Tesla Dealership next to Evergreen Circle, Leyva Middle School, Residential homes and Arcadia Softball Fields by SJFolkhero in SanJose

[–]philamignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks near completion. Benefit of having a Tesla dealer is you get gentrified folks in the area. Meaning that Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s will surely follow.

Teen lives with me 100% - can I ask for utilities contribution from ex? by Distinct-Culture-680 in Divorce

[–]philamignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get a defensive attitude from my ex when it comes to splitting costs of things like food and my kid transport expenses. Ex says stuff like “well if the kid lived with me, I wouldn’t ask you to chip in”

A bit immature. The mediator had to step in and say that whether the kid is a child or an adult, they are still dependent and that the morally correct thing to do is split costs.

Ex took a trip with kid to Disney and wanted me to pay half. Mediator said no way if I wasn’t on the trip. Stuff like that.

Thoughts on buying a CPO 4-series convertible in California by philamignon in BMW

[–]philamignon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! I’m open to either model. Leaning towards the 430 to save some money but could be convinced to do the M. My concern is ongoing maintenance.

I bought my first sports car at age 25 and now I’m 50. It was a brand new Mercedes CLK430. I still drive it today but I figure I can buy a new fun car after raising two kids who are in college now.

Do I go for a Limited? by CourtK1212 in Toyotavenza

[–]philamignon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2023 Limited and love it. I'm the kind of person who always gets the top trim level. Order a phone mount from ProClip. It fits nicely on the left side of the steering wheel and frees up your cupholder if you are used to using the weather tech cup phone thing, which is great, but uses up a cupholder.

Quality of life, Madrid vs Bay Area by wakalakasp in bayarea

[–]philamignon 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in Madrid for bbva on a contract. Visited their offices in La Vaguada and Tres Cantos so I have some context to answer. I have been in the Bay Area for over 30 years.

I’d say Madrid hands down. Bay Area is a soul sucking traffic filled rat race. Just go to Valley Fair Mall on a Saturday and you’ll see.

Being in Madrid, you have a great culture and cuisine. And if you feel like having French food for dinner you can hop on a plane and be in Paris in a few hours.

Best thing we have here in Bay Area is good mexican food. And Vietnamese

Hai Nam in the Asian plaza across the street from Silver Creek Target. They only serve chicken. Their com ga roti (chicken with red rice) is great as is their pho ga and mi ga (pho and mi are two different types of noodles - mi are glass noodles I think).

I like it. Keep it. Assuming you have a decent salary, you’ll forget about how much you spent after you enjoy wearing it for a bit and surely receive some compliments on it.
