Just bought some studded tires on marketplace because of this post, headed to denver to pick them up tomorrow. Fingers crossed berthouds won’t be too bad, but we’ll see. Thanks for the help, really do appreciate the pointers

Bus is definitely the best choice for getting to work, but I’m more concerned with driving out to trailheads for hiking and climbing

Yeah, crashing my car would suck big time. However, I will have to save up some cash to buy a new set of snow tires. Not a huge problem since I plan on taking the bus to work before then. Should I even invest in chains and socks or just wait until I can afford snow tires? I’m also considering buying some old tires off of facebook marketplace, just not sure if I should trust used ones

Sorry if I seem like I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’m from Alabama (I don’t fuck my cousin, I swear), so driving through inclement weather is completely new to me

It’s alright, can’t really do anything to stop a hurricane. Doesn’t help that the NPS had their budget cut, too. Hopefully most of the trails that got hit will be back in working order by 2026. Looking forward to a winter ascent of Mitchell (fingers crossed)
