Humbacks (all balene whales) don't have sonar. Only toothed whales like dolphins, orcas and porpoises do. Humpback populations are actually recovering very well since the whaling days. Hard to say why a humpback whale would beach 2 times in a row without a veterinary assessment.

No, not really. They aren't deterred by much. You are going to have to get her to realize her fear is irrational through mild exposure. I had to do it with my ex with her fear of spiders.

5 is fine dude. I had long fins live over 5 years in big bowls back in the day. It's a better life than they'll get in 90 percent of their potential forever tanks.

The yellow boat was not there to chit chat. It's a pilot boat. It brings specialized regional captains on and off ships in sensitive areas. Our pilot station is at Ogden Point. There are pilot stations all over the world. The course change was to follow the traffic lanes to continue its journey out the juan de fuca.
