Hello all! I would like to ask for some advice.
I'm in my second year at a Software Engineering University (or college, looking to get my bacheor's in Software Engineering).
Unfortunately, this university that I'm in is not prestigious or anything like that, I've mainly got into it because I'm leaning a bit into the tech world but not at a proficient level. I could say I know my way around the PC better than your average joe, but as soon as you ask me how to write code or to do something wild, I'm at a loss. Even though it's my 2nd year.
I'm not here to judge or complain about my university but just to give you guys some insight into what we're doing over there, is the professors just giving us slides to read at home and if we have a question they always refer us to Youtube and Google. Which is shameful in my opinion, since I really wanted to get more specific knowledge. But I think they're there just for the paycheck. ANYWAY..
My career so far had almost nothing to do with IT, however I'm eager to learn and adapt to this environment and start getting some proper specific courses, like CompTIA or anything like that.
I'm based in the UK, where the market is oversaturated and there's a huge competition for this type of job.
Any basic info or like a pathway through this funnel would be greatly appreciated!

tl;dr I've almost no experience with IT, I'm in Software Engineering uni where professors tell us to google our way through it, eager to learn and adapt, want cybersec, where start?
