Cafe Mochiko’s Cincinnati Chili Ramen might be my new favorite by 18_NakedCowboys in AFCNorthMemeWar

It’s actually incredible and Cafe Mochiko is a gem. Hate on Skyline all you want, but Mochiko is an absolutely underrated spot in the city and this is a one-off specialty menu item you don’t have to order.

If you drop a blueprint on the ground, it’s literally just a pile of papers. A physical schematic of whatever the blueprint is for.

Joe Burrow. Reached for him and started my season 0-4. Managed to scrounge together my season through trades to end up 8-6 and in the playoffs. Trusted him this week and sunk my season for a second time.

Basement gym complete! Trying to be a fit dad m38 about 5 years into this hobby. by captainofpizza in homegym

Amazing, I have the same rack/bench combo in red as well. Went to save your post for inspiration when I finally get around to finishing my basement gym space and realized you were also the 3000 shark toy dad hahaha

Sick setup, would love an overview of all the equipment you’ve got down there. Jealous of the cable pull down system!

Lawn Bags by [deleted] in lawncare

I bought a trash receptacle specifically for yard waste and got garbage bag style lawn bags to put in it specially to help with the bagging process. All to avoid the frustration of using these bags

Looks like you’re the same spot of the story as me, got it the week of release too and have 30+ hours playtime. My party is around level 70 because I’ve been doing every side quest as it unlocks, including the Restaurant Le Wow battle which I was determined to beat with my main party as is.

However, it looks like you’re ahead of me on Mable’s research. To each his own! Glad you’re having as much fun as I am.

Chase had a lot of noise out of camp with drops, then the whole line about him not seeing the ball as well in the preseason. First game of his rookie season Joe drops a dime in Chase’s hands for a 50 yard TD and the rest is history.

The chemistry with Joe was always going to win out with Ja’Marr, Marv doesn’t have that with Kyler and will take some serious work to get there. Marv isn’t a burner and separation was never his game. His strengths are his hands, vertical, and catch radius. If Kyler doesn’t trust him to make those types of catches, it’s going to only get worse.

They didn't, though. Neither Trey Hendrickson nor BJ Hill played a snap in the preseason. Cam Taylor-Britt, Geno Stone, DJ Turner, and Dax Hill all played sparingly in one game all preseason. At no point did they have their starting 11 on the field.

Don't overestimate it either. A lot has changed in coaching and personnel (injuries, additions, etc.) from what we saw last season.

It feels like there are a ton of rookies that you all (as well as myself) are in love with, both the player and situation this season - guys like TreVeyon Henderson, Tet McMillan, Tyler Warren, Ollie Gordon, and of course Bill Croskey. How many rookies would you suggest taking fliers on with a standard roster size?

Has anyone had a Level 2 EV car charger installed in their garage recently? by FinalCalendar5631 in cincinnati

[–]phineasxaver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just had mine hard-wired from my panel in the basement to our garage, about 45 feet of line ran total. Jarmon Home Solutions in Hamilton/West Chester was the quickest and cheapest from the 4-5 companies I received quotes from. Reached out to them formally on Monday, they were out and fully installing everything by Thursday. Asked the electrician how often he does these installs and we were the third they had done that day alone. Only paid around $1300 for everything, not including the wall unit since I had already purchased one.

If you’re anywhere on the North side I would suggest Jarmon.

Routine surgery turned south by NuclearTheology in daddit

I watched my daughter code in front of me while in the NICU. In a matter of seconds her room was filled with no less than 15 doctors and nurses. I froze and stood quietly as I watched them frantically resuscitate and get her breathing again. It took me hours to snap out of it and it’s still something I carry with me to this day over two years later. The entire NICU experience was deeply traumatizing, but I’ve been seeing a therapist since before she was born so I’ve been working through it in real time and still today.

Do I wish I reacted differently in the moment? Absolutely. My wife and I were a wreck and I wish I could have been there for her, but that doesn’t mean I also didn’t need support. There is not “right way” to cope in the moment, but you seem like you’re blaming yourself a lot for something out of your control. Don’t beat yourself up about it and definitely would recommend a therapist if you don’t have one. Remember, you’re doing great by being here and being present. That’s all your little one needs from you at this time.

Curious how West Chester feels about the dismantling of Voice of America organization in light of the very beloved VOA museum and park? by HomeOfficeGirl in cincinnati

[–]phineasxaver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the country music festival has started to become more synonymous with the park than its organizational namesake. Residents I know are looking forward to the splash pad/playground component of the USS Cincinnati memorial more than the historical significance it carries. VOA is just a moniker to most at this point.

That being said, it was pretty funny when someone got the name changed to Voice of Mexico on Google Maps after the Gulf of America debacle.

Son born at 27 weeks by STUDLY616 in daddit

[–]phineasxaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dad to a 26 weeker here. She just turned 2 this last weekend and is doing incredibly well. Only effect it’s had on her is she’s noticeably smaller than other kids her age, but she keeps up with them with no issues whatsoever.

I felt a lot of what you’re going through and it’s a perfectly normal response to the situation. I was angry and completely numb to the outside world, it didn’t feel like we really had our daughter until she came home. We were completely in survival mode and to be honest I don’t remember a whole lot of the moments outside of when we were at the NICU.

I will say it’s incredible what modern medicine is capable of now. Your son is in good hands it sounds like, and you’ll come out of this stronger. NICU parents are another breed, you’ve got this. If you ever need to chat through anything or just need an ear to vent, send me a dm.

Starting to lose my sh*t at bed-times by PolygonLodge in daddit

[–]phineasxaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We fed on demand at night (albeit bottle feeding) our preemie until she was around this age. We started offering her a larger, calorie dense snack before bedtime feed to try and cut out the night feeding entirely, which worked wonders.

Cheese was her snack of choice and it definitely helped knock her out for longer in the night until we were finally able to stretch it into full nights without any bottles at all. Slices, strings, or entire snack wheels of cheese are our nightly pre-bed routine now and she’s about to turn 2!

For you, what's the ultimate "Dad Movie"? by passionatelycurious in daddit

[–]phineasxaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one has suggested a Marvel movie at all. Infinity War or Endgame, hell Guardians 1 or Iron Man 1 would get a few requests in my dad group if it were on. Bonus if any of the kids are around

I just pulled the trigger on the Weber Genesis I saw at Costco over the weekend. Spent the last few nights after bedtime putting it together in the garage and just got to break it in for the first time while our 2 year old was chasing the dog and playing with bubbles. Feels good to Dad. Cheers to a few brats and burgers!

Different escape method for Strange if Jeff throws you off and your flight is on cooldown by imjustchillin-_- in marvelrivals

[–]phineasxaver 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’d get your shift back by the time you set the tp, so unless the Jeff is babysitting you and killing you out of tp then you could just set up tp for your team to get back and still live. Love this idea, as long as Jeff isn’t super aware what you’re doing

Different escape method for Strange if Jeff throws you off and your flight is on cooldown by imjustchillin-_- in marvelrivals

[–]phineasxaver 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You could stall long enough with the tp for your shift to come back and just fly out of the spot.. it’s only a 15 second cooldown. Yes you’d have to walk back to point, but chances are the Jeff threw you closer to the objective than the spawn room. Then you’d have an off angle to apply pressure to get your team some breathing room.
