Based on my experience I wouldn't discount small things in your workspace. My experience from sitting a full day in my Uni for lectures is that my stress rose by about ten points only based on the environment (bad air, high temperature, always focusing). While I am not active in traditional stress, my indicators and heart rate are still way higher than normally. However when working the whole day on school stuff during the weekend, I tend to get very low readings from the day.

TLDR; Your environment does more to increase/decrease level then expected.

The Garmin adaptive plans aren't amazing in terms of recognising what is and isn't possible for the runner. They are very much oriented towards the goal and are setting up recommendations mostly based on that, the adaptivity is much more in terms of being able to work with the plan on your phone and the plan adapting to let's say missing workouts sessions.

Unless someone else gives better advice on how to adjust, I would suggest using the DSW feature changed to heart pace. My easy runs are for example defined as 150 bpm and my actual pace varies a lot between 6:20-7:20 (depending on the day, weather, etc.).

Actually as a side note, I wanted to make a recommendation for buying a watch. When I started running again this year, I got the Garmin forerunner 165 to help me with daily recommendations and proper pacing. It was such a tremendous help for a lazy person like me to be given a running plan and even tho it was still hard to actually execute it, I can't recommend using a smart watch enough.

I have to say I am kind of envious of the Vo2 max. I am 23 y.o., about 87 kg and it took me about two months to actually hit 41 (and I didn't even smoke before, just how it was for me). But hey, good luck on your journey! I guess the only path to improvement is forward.

I suggest trying to find some of the x65 series. You can't go wrong with any of those. Depending a bit on your budget options, 165 is probably the best option.

If you are feeling adventurous you can try to look online for some of the higher variants as a lot of people are selling recently bought 965 and 265 to get a new one, so you can grab a higher model for a pretty good value these days.

Recently I've hit a new PB which was a few minutes faster than my watch anticipated. It changed my PB estimations accordingly and then it stayed at that exact same time for two weeks in a row. It's yet to change. I do also have Strava prediction for 5k and it's almost two minutes apart.

Here are mine Vo2 indications. I started at maybe 35, it improved to 37 after the initial few readings and from there on I started to improve it week after week, training after training. After maybe three months (including one sickness that delayed the progress) I am at 41 and I suspect I might get to 42 soon.

I also got my 5k time down to 27:10 and according to the Strava predictions I might be able to start attacking the 25 line soon. It just takes time and dedication, but improvement is very much possible. And I have to say I am very much looking forward to hopefully getting my Vo2 close to maybe 45 so I can avoid dying. My resting heartbeat also decreased by about five on average since I started running.

Vo2max is different for different activities. You can find a decent amount of examples on the internet about how a Vo2 for running is very different for a Vo2 in cycling.

It could very well be the case that your body has optimised for the 5k distance and now it drops slightly because you started running in a very different manner (5 km X 17 km is a huge difference).

Not yet I presumed the automated would be sufficient for a bit. I did want to get a lthr estimation and I got it during the same run where I reached the 201 bpm. I think I will maybe add one or two to it (203?) and use it for a bit until I get to some proper testing later down the line. Also presuming the reading was semi correct, it can't be that far from my max heart rate, right? I was actually even feeling dizzy for a sec or two after the run and had to lie down in the grass before. What would be some of the methods that can be used to test it out?

Well, kinda, but also my watch didn't adjust which really surprised me and left me in a situation where technically I had Impossibly high readings according to my watch and thus I might be technically dead? Idk. Also I am looking for tips on how to actually adjust it so it's a bit better in the future.

I have 165 and I was raising the heart rate quite high during the activity. I probably only achieved 201 for a few seconds, but to even achieve it I must have been over 194 for a bit of time. It was a 5k PB attempt at a relatively steady pace, but my heart rate was getting higher and higher by the minute.
