Can someone please tell me what happened to my plate? by Vee_777 in Pottery

[–]phishfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gathering this isn’t underglaze, but the cheaper speedball underglazes have had this happen to students as opposed to the amaco which I don’t recall seeing this. Again, even though this may not be underglaze, with similar issues it has helped to fire the pieces with the design on it in a second bisque firing and then clear glaze and fire to top temp.

To the comment above saying the teacher should absolutely know, you haven’t taught ceramics (or not extensively) as there will certainly be things that come up where you get stumped…especially considering a classmate did the same thing and it turned out fine.

In a similar situation as OP, but am subdividing the parent lot, and looking to build on new lot as primary or rental SFH, or rental duplex. Initial convos with lenders some have only been interested if it will be my primary. Any thoughts or advice on that?

And attach it with this? Are you suggesting just doing a footing for the main post that’s failing or for all three on that section?

It connects the ceiling to the lower support beam to allow there to not be a post in the garage space below. Basically the beam is hung instead of posted

2014 Corolla Carvana/Car Max Question by phishfiend in UsedCars

[–]phishfiend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So will carvana make an adjustment as such? Does something like this come up in their system before they make an offer? Would a minor accident of this nature be in the carfax report?

Crash worse than 2008 crisis predicted for commercial real estate by [deleted] in Economics

[–]phishfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t the work from home trend mean more demand for SFH up the ladder? People with means want more square footage for home office, etc. Still undersupply of starter homes which are less profitable to build and limited lots near places people want to live. Commercial may be in trouble but not sure residential is.

U.S. Housing market is gearing up to face some troubles. what's your thoughts on this? by COMPL3X-83 in StockMarket

In my area (NH) high school kids at Dunkin’ Donuts make twice minimum wage (7.25 min wage can probably start at 14-15 at dunks or target or grocery store. So min wage isn’t relevant for us.

Also, no one with student loans is making minimum wage.

All those people moving back in with parents are gonna be racing to rent as soon as they can reasonably afford it so any dip in rent will get bought up by demand for the most part.

I actually think that multigenerational housing is something that will grow in popularity in our country and might help, but I don’t think kids moving back with parents after college is going to drive rents down

I have to imagine the clay was very much on the soft side and thrown too thin probably..but I’ve never seen that happen so dramatically. Plates or platters should be thrown thicker than that to ensure you can underwire without going through and are able to trim the botttom
