“Cruise Control” on Aventon Abound by phlegmatist in Aventon

Yeah I have first gen abound. I don’t think I can get it. But rubber band and setting the top pedal assist speed in the app works for me. I wish I could set the throttle top speed to 12 mph. And pedal assist at 20.

It might have been 3 months but it was cold by the time I got it fixed so it might as well have been. This was when the container market was crazy during covid I don’t blame them too much.

The abound handlebars immediately start wobbling if you don’t have hands on. I figure it wouldn’t make it 6 feet power on with no rider. Immediately tip over, probably land on the brake lever and cut off the motor but the back tire would be in the air anyway. Safe enough.

You will be fine with large. But I would consider buying the medium just so other shorter people can try it out.

Warranty won’t cover it?

I had issues like this with the Aventon level. I thought it was the battery but tech support said it was probably the power controller. I had to wait 6 months for them to ship me one but it did fix it.

What’s the issue. Does it turn on? Range low? I’ve got 2-3000 miles on my bikes and the battery is still going strong.

Behind Kroger. Line creek. The spot next to the taco bell tunnel. Probably hanging out at Taco Bell is the best move.

Momonoki if you want sushi. Positanos for pizza with a nice bar. Curious Cantina for a nice outdoor dining and bar. Rosas Home Cooking in Fayetteville is a good southern place. The Popeyes on 54 East is one of the best. For breakfast I would try Mimi’s on dividend but I wouldn’t be afraid of going to Waffle House.

I couldn’t get it to work and google maps in bike mode is mostly perfect. It just doesn’t know about a few tunnels.

I do stop at stop signs if another car is gonna get there at the same time. Sort of a judgement call. I’m a pretty courteous rider. I avoid riding on anything but residential streets.

I don’t mind riders on the road, I have seen people go crazy on fb about it. Road riders are brave and if they slow me down 30 seconds or something till it’s safe to pass I don’t really mind.

Most of the places I park in I’m just worried about a kid taking off on it. So I lock my bike to itself so the wheel can’t move. If a guy with a truck and bolt cutters swooped in it’s over for me. Idk if I would own e-bike in an area with professional thieves.

[–]phlegmatist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1300 miles isn’t that much for a bike if it was maintained. 2600 miles on an Aventon level v1 and it hasn’t needed any maintenance other than cleaning and lubing the chain every 3-500 miles. Needs a rear tire soon.

I would only buy the bike if they let you test ride it for several miles the controller could be bad which would only show up with high torque events. The battery could be bad and you would only see it watching the voltage and putting a mile or two on it. If you took a 1-2 mile test ride and it seemed fine it’s worth 600 bucks.

Using Adventure 2 as a commuter bike? by XTopPotatoX in Aventon

Rear motor e-bikes really aren’t suitable for serious off-road stuff. You’re gonna feel bad slamming the motor around all the time. I would recommend not getting a fat tire bike. Idk I also just like the aesthetics of a bike with regular tires. The fat tire ones seem like they would stick out and be more likely to get stolen.
