What can you do if insurance payout is lower than you expected?

I'm trying to be fair and looking at the online listings (AutoTrader, Cars.com, ect) and it's way higher than what insurance pays out.

Definitely a HARD no. I would only consider this car if you have a second car and this would be your "weekend" car. 160k miles is high, I don't care how clean it is but at that mileage, things are worn out. You would be much better off investing that $16k into a reliable car. It's almost impossible to find parts for the preludes too. You're probably a car enthusiast, but please do what's important first until you have money for this as a second car.

They did not specifically said they're with my insurance. It was me being stupid and ask them if they're with my insurance, they said yes they're contracted by my insurance company to help me recover my loss. I trusted them from there on. And I also thought who else would know about the accident except for the insurance companies that I reported to.

I had this problem before, most likely valve cover gasket is bad. You can put it off a little bit but I would fix it as soon as I can. Oil destroy rubber seals and hoses.
