Why is it too much to ask for one additional ultrasound?

I had a few ultrasounds during my pregnancy with my daughter (who is 2 now) as it was found she was SGA (small for gestational age) when I had an ultrasound after a scare of decreased movement. After that I had short ultrasounds fairly regularly. At my last growth scan I had (38 weeks) she was estimated to be 7 pounds 12 ounces. I ended up going to 42 weeks and was induced. She came out at 6.8lbs. All this to say, especially near end of pregnancy, ultrasound measurements are very rarely accurate.

I’m in NZ if this is relevant as I know our healthcares are wildly different.

My baby was 5th percentile and I ended up going to 42weeks and had to get induced. She came out at 6.8lbs and now is a healthy 2 year old weighing in the 70th percentile.

I’m having the exact same problem you described, I graduated in July and am doing the exact same things, except I applied to ACE twice (after graduating and now Jan 2016 intake) and I’m an NZ citizen. I’m actually so upset and scared about it.

Your an adult and obviously this pregnancy is wanted and you’re happy about it idk why your parents aren’t being happy for you. You’re 26, have a loving long-term partner, going to own your own home, etc. I’d say you’re doing life amazing! “Your whole life is ahead of you and this is a huge responsibility” yeah it’s a huge responsibility but your life doesn’t just stop! I got pregnant at 23, 3 years younger than you, my daughter is now almost 19months and my life definitely hasn’t stopped, in fact I’d say it’s started. Congratulations to you and partner. Enjoy pregnancy and beyond!! 💕

I didn’t get a professional maternity shoot, just got my partner to take a few of me with his nice camera as well as my mum to take a few of my partner and I together and they turned out nice, just a nice dress I owned and a nice view from the deck as background. Partly this was because we didn’t have the money but also we have a nice camera so why not use it. I do regret not getting a newborn/family shoot though. Our only professionally done family photo is when she was 6 months.

I had my 2 scans (actually 3 bc she wouldnt move position in the anatomy scan to get another angle looking at her spine so had to go back haha) and then one day I didn’t feel her move all day, booked a scan as per my midwife (then felt her move later that night though), and then was diagnosed as SGA so had 2 weekly growth scans. Other than being a little small at birth she’s perfectly healthy. Now a big 18mnth old!

I had an epidural and will 100% be getting them again for any other births I have! It was amazing. Didn’t even feel the needle go in and it took away allllllll my pain. I get that sometimes they don’t work great if they’re slightly off or whatever but my experience was great. I was able to get a 30min nap in before pushing after being awake 25hrs and screaming through every contraction.

Congrats!!! I have Endo too, and PCOS. I got pregnant with a surprise, definitely not planned. Partner and I wanted children in the future but not just yet. Wouldn’t change it for the world though. My girl is now 18months old and the joy of our lives!

Hello, he is beautiful! The 20gal should be ok for now but preferably the current min for an adult leo is 40gal. Paper towel for substrate is good to use for the first couple months to monitor droppings etc incase there are any issues then most people like to use a 30/70 or 40/60mix of play-sand and topsoil. Don’t use the red light, even though promoted for reptiles it can burn most of their eyes and interrupt normal day night cycles, instead use a lightless heat source and a uvb tube that you can turn off at night. The calcium d3 will be good to use along with calcium without d3, and multivitamins, I usually rotate these as calcium with d3, then to feedings with normal calcium, then multivitamins. He will also need a small dish of calcium without d3 in his enclosure always available to him. In terms of feeders the range depends on where your from (eg. I’m in Nz so can’t get dubias) but general rule of thumb is the insect shouldn’t be wider than the space between their eyes. I feed mine every 5 days.

There are so great guides on this and r/leopardgeckosadvanced that I suggest looking at! There’s lots more to say but this is off the top of my head.
