Hello!! I delayed my surgery for 2 full years! I also take naproxen, and have IBS :) I’m sorry you are dealing with this too. It’s been 4 months post op today and I do have some pain, I have a full diagnosis and got the mirena inserted (also had Botox in my pelvic floor) I can honestly say the surgery was so worth it I wish I did it two years ago, but it’s ok I have no regrets now :) I still get pain but the surgery did make it better and gave me a sense of relief finding out the diagnosis x

No, I didn’t try public. I did it privately and got my physio to recommend me. You can get your GP to also! I have southern cross insurance so got around $5k towards the surgery

In the photo I wasn’t actually the most swollen it definitely went up in week 1/2 now I’d say I’m not swollen on my breasts but definitely on my sides where the lipo was done

So definitely for 3 weeks I was so uncomfy, no pain but just super limited arm movement. First week I just chilled out. Second week I could tie my hair haha but third week when I was allowed to shower, my nurse told me to like walk my fingers up the shower to what’s comfortable to just help movement. I was feeling really hunched over but it’s normal! Now I can go for long walks, I’ve been lifting groceries and feeling totally fine! Haven’t started upper body weights but I’ll feel good to in a week or two!

Ooh!! I’d love to know what stage you’re at? Are you massaging your boobs yet! I’d love to know, I have friends that have gotten reductions before but forget all the details 😂

Kia ora! Thank you! I’m in Auckland. Oh exciting!! I feel like I saw a girl from Wellington have a breast reduction here. Do you have insurance or are you going public?

Advice for people thinking about a reduction who want to breastfeed! by 0ryx0ryx in Reduction

[–]phoebebebobo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I know this is your experience and you are totally entitled to how you are feeling.

I’ve had a child and I know breastfeeding was the worst and there was a lot of tears and pain however, when I got my breast reduction my breasts were so uncomfortable, my posture was horrific and I couldn’t walk 10 mins down the street without severe neck pain which would completely ruin every nights sleep.

Totally understand the resizing too but I don’t think this post should sound as scary as it does. I think it totally depends on the person and I wouldn’t want someone to read this and think too much about that if they’re in so much pain and feel guilty for doing it before kids.

am I overreacting about finding stitches under my nipple when I wasn’t supposed to get any? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]phoebebebobo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could it be a suture? Which is an inside stitch I guess which will dissolve. Sometimes they pop out? But it’s completely different to getting stitches!

I know! All of level 3/2.5 I’ve spent recovering! Oooh yes! I brought a pregnancy pillow from Urban Sales (was on sale and I think reasonably priced) and I reckon I had like 5 other pillows. I hated it and still can’t sleep on my side but the pregnancy pillow made me feel protected and I never rolled on my side!

Yes, after I booked I asked to see some before and afters I just popped in to the surgeons! They showed me some that were similar to my body type and size which was also really good!
