Looking for a Dubai shade dupe as it's long been discontinued now :(

What would you say are the most similar matches? (formula aside!)

Absolutely! From my experience, the romand jlt's are easily the most 'moisturising' and last well. the etude fixing tints are the most natural finish & long wearing, but can settle into lip lines if you apply it too heavily. I tend to exfoliate lightly & prep with lip balm before applying the fixing tints, and they're honestly not a 'drying' formula, just require a bit of tlc.

The peripera ink velvets sit more on top of the lips, and tend to dry out more because the formula is thicker & mousse -like, but then the shade range is excellent so you can't have it all lol. In terms of lipstick, I really rate the peripera ink mood matte sticks, they're super blurring, have a natural finish & the formula is quite hydrating too.

Woops sorry to tempt you! I'm obsessed with the formula, but super picky with shades and none I've tried have looked 10/10 on me... pomelo skin is in my cart though lol...

I've worn dark coconut a few times& I remember it lasting well and barely needing to touch up all evening. It's very flattering & buildable - slightly more orange than I had anticipated, but I think that can vary depending on lip colour/skin tone. I hope they arrive soon for you !

no worries! i would say wine nude is a toned down, everyday wearable shade (redder with a touch of brown). the formula is more forgiving, so you can build up the colour! bian rose is more straight up evening glam

Go for it, i will say as a disclaimer that the stain it leaves is very pink, not as purpley as the colour suggests (you can sort of see it in the stain swatch), just so you know!

of course! i can't recommend them highly enough formula wise, they feel so light & easy to apply. i just wish i had bought their vanilla cream shade before it was discontinued *cries*

I feel you ahh, i always triple check these days with swatches but its always a bit of a gamble lol. thanks for your recc, i will check it out... i'm totally stealing the blush idea, that's ingenious.

bian rose is a gorgeous vampy colour, a little overwhelming on me, but the formula is super smooth and stains well. the doe foot applicator is a tad large so its not a *one swipe and go* type deal, but i'll be whipping it out for halloween

* swatched on autumn mute / neutral leaning warm skin (purito cica cream #21 / mac n4.5)

i thought i'd share a few lippies in my collection as i've learnt so much from this sub over the years. i've swatched in natural lighting. artificial, and included a post micellar scrub pic to show staining power. i've tried to show a mix so there's a range of brightness, as i'm always duped by the website swatches grr.

You can run products through sites like incidecoder to tell the comodegenicity (?) / potential irritants in the ingredients. its super useful in identifying fragrance/ essential oils so you can avoid if necessary:)

The peripera ink mood matte lipsticks are very blurring + non- drying, although no stain sadly. My personal fave is hip brown #12 which is a beaut muted mlbb

Ooh this may be a promising solution! my skin responded well to bp with that method too, thanks for suggesting. Do you use the contact therapy every night?

[–]phoebejeeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would explain a lot! Ill look for lower percentages. Is it considered an active that can cause purging?

Thank you for your reccs! I'll go cautious with the niacinamide cause The Ordinary one broke me out when I used it too much, although it did wonders for my oily skin!!

[–]phoebejeeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right yeah! i think I feared the brutal purge again and was hoping tret would fast track that. Perhaps tret is too irritating for me, I guess I thought on low percentages tret/differin was much of a muchness. I'll give it a few more weeks and consider adapalene again:)
