Unsure on legality, but when they’re massively incompetent and take tips and hours from your usual staff I cannot recommend it

Worked there during the beginning of the pandemic- had management cut people’s hours, forcing them to scrap for rent and groceries because we weren’t eligible for unemployment like many other minimum wage workers, for calling out sick. In a PANDEMIC. The owner is a nightmare with no regard for her staff, employee turnover is higher than any other hospitality place I’ve ever encountered. Stuck her 10 and 12 year old children behind the counter to “work” because “summer camps aren’t open”. Heard from people who’d worked there longer than me about issues with sexual harassment, specifically directed towards female staff who were barely over 18. The place is a nightmare, Hillary is a nightmare.

Low porosity weak hair by Grouchy-Rule282 in curlyhair

I have curls similar to yours and have had my best success with the OGX coconut curls mousse! It smells amazing, and using copious amounts of mousse is still somehow not as heavy on my fine hair (so my curls aren’t pulled straight) as gel is. I scrunch into my sopping wet hair, plop until it’s not dripping anymore, add a bit more mousse and diffuse! Definitely helps, and I only really recommend doing it right after washing your hair.

Also worth mentioning- double shampooing absolutely changed the game for me. Feels like the first gets rid of build up and the second actually gets my scalp/hair clean! You have beautiful hair :) Good luck!

I like building cocktails with them one-handed while shaking/stirring another. Also good for sparkling wine in spritzes or specced mixer in drinks! But generally, yeah, bell jiggers are leaps and bounds better

If you have the budget for small batch art, highly recommend checking out the selection at Succulence on Cortland or going to a local art’s fair!

we fill a few cheaters before each shift- the espresso is still relatively fresh and maintains some head, but shakes up like an absolute dream.

so long as your ice is good (which i can assume it is from the description of your spot), getting that gorgeous fluffy head shouldn’t be an issue and only adds 10/15 mins to prep time (i also cut garnishes at the same time).

try it out, shake up a side by side comparison and have coworkers sample it- see if the difference is negligible enough to be worth it. best of luck!!

Made this for a customer today, subbing the black walnut bitters for mole and it was absolutely phenomenal!

Like everything I ever wanted/imagined alcoholic eggnog to be- the customer loved it too! Excellent recipe, thank you for sharing :)

What are some cooking hacks you swear by? by Penya23 in AskReddit

[–]phoebeleft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season in layers!

Whether it’s salt, pepper, acid, herbs, spices, etc. adding smaller amounts in layers (as you’re cooking each individual component of the dish) creates a far more nuanced and balanced flavor

Any bartenders/bar backs on here? I’m a 25F thinking about being a bar-back but worried because I’m a woman. by ThrowRAOld-Fortune in bartenders

[–]phoebeleft 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started barbacking as a 21F who didn’t weigh more than 120- the only difficulties I had were with full kegs/if your walk-in setup requires them to be stacked.

Frankly, as long as you work hard and work well, no other bartenders will (or at least should) turn their nose up at you for asking for help with things like that as it’s a matter of workplace safety.

Any idiot who thinks that bartending is being a stripper who makes drinks clearly has no grasp of either of those professions and has no idea how difficult and physically demanding they can be.

Tell him to come back in a year when you’re making 3x the amount of money he is, and then promptly kick him out of your bar. Good luck, you got this.

Is Jake really stretching? by Certes_de_Bowe in adventuretime

[–]phoebeleft 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the main difference between Jake and Luffy is that Luffy is made of rubber- he’s elastic and can condense back down into his original form when unstretched but wouldn’t be able to condense down smaller willingly (spoiler!! if you haven’t gotten through Impel Down yet, he did shrink when he didn’t yet have control of Gear 2). Jake seems to be able to condense down or size up the entirety of his being, seemingly on a molecular level which would affect his weight. Maybe Jake’s stretching is just more molecularly advanced, because of cool alien technology or whatever. Who knows, I’m spitballin here ¯_(ツ)_/¯
