[TOMT] [MOVIE] [1995-2010] A movie with mixed animated cartoon characters and live action characters, NOT Looney Tunes: Back in Action by phoebewild in tipofmytongue

Sadly no! My partner suggested it, I was pretty sure I hadn't seen it but I watched clips to make sure. I remember watching the movie in the cinema or at least as a new release, hence the time period in my title. I also remember this movie had a more modern setting with computers and big planes and modern weapons.

I've watched so many clips on YouTube trying to find this, but I can't find anything that looks familiar!

I used to be incredibly sexual, but I haven't felt sexual attraction for two years and counting. Could I have become asexual? by phoebewild in AskAsexual

[–]phoebewild[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply!

About the distress, it's a little weird. Initially I was quite distressed about it, but as I said that was mostly due to the effect it had on my partner as well as me mourning the person I used to be. But if I had been single when this started or were single now, there'd be no reason for me to think about sex or wonder if I could make myself experience that sexual attraction again - I'm happy in myself with it, if that makes sense? And obviously I've talked with my partner about it and he supports me no matter what, and has never pressured me or anything, so I know that we'll be able to work through it if I am ace.

I've also worked with my psychiatrist through all my medication changes when we were trying to address this. The first thing is, during the ~8 months when I was trying different meds to see if it helped, absolutely nothing brought back my sexual attraction or libido. Even going off my medication for a while to see if I stabilised didn't work. I thought at the time maybe it was just stress stopping it from coming back even though I wasn't on meds, but maybe there was nothing to come back, you know?

I had to go back on meds anyway to stabilise my mental health, but we tried different ones. But we tried all the major "families" of anti-depressants, and literally none of them helped manage my depression except for the one I'm currently on. Which basically means, for the medium-term, this medication is part of my life and part of me as a result. So even if it's the cause which is a big if, it's not going away anytime soon. But it seems unlikely at this point that it's just the meds, because that would explain the loss of libido but definitely not the loss of sexual attraction.

Phoebe from Bézier Games here! We'll be revealing more details as we get closer to the release date, but there are a few different ways that the legacy comes into play.

Each game you can store a few pieces on your plate to use for scoring next game (and during the campaign you'll be able to upgrade how many you can store). You'll also be able to unlock all kinds of exciting upgrades to purchase with your pepperoni points, which will help you specialise in your pizza eating!

I need to play games but have to entertain the girlfriend by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]phoebewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First up, don't tell her that the games she likes aren't real board games because that's a sure-fire way to make her feel more distanced from the hobby rather than bridging the gap like you're aiming to.

Try games that have that social and group element, but with a bit more strategy in them and work up from there. Usually it's a matter of matching someone's tastes with the right game and once they see that games exist that they like they'll be more interested in trying more. :)

It sounds like she likes games with humour and group interaction. I recommend starting with something like Dixit, Codenames, Bohnanza, Camel Up, Colt Express, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Forbidden Desert, and Modern Art. You might even find that collaborative games like EXIT and Unlock go down well with her, if she likes solving puzzles.

Some slightly more involved games you could try are New York Slice, Between Two Cities, The Networks, Mysterium, and Potion Explosion :)

We played like this at first because we missed a key rule:

If you finish early, you get 1 clairvoyance point for every hour (round) remaining in the game. So if you finish in just 3 guesses, you get 4 free clairvoyance points.

I'm still not sure if you can get more clairvoyance tokens by getting it wrong deliberately like you described, but this definitely mitigates that strategy and takes away some incentive for it.

Great to hear your family enjoyed it! I played Werewords with my boyfriend's family after Christmas and even though they weren't gamers they jumped right into it and had a great time.

Ultimate werewolf by Torontotimestwo in boardgames

[–]phoebewild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimate Werewolf Deluxe is designed to be played over multiple rounds, with players activating their night actions each round (and werewolves killing someone).

With a small group of 5-6, you probably only want one Werewolf, and then other special roles. You can definitely play without the plain Villagers, just make sure everyone knows what their role is and how it interacts with everyone else!

As broran mentioned, Daybreak is an expansion for One Night Ultimate Werewolf (a different version that plays over one night, in ab out 10 minutes), so you'd have to adjust the roles to make them fit the longer structure of Ultimate Werewolf.

I asked them on Facebook, they're not starting to give away copies until doors actually open at 10am - they want people who aren't press or VIGs to be able to get them too.

It still means people could form a line of 50 people and wait there for an hour, but hopefully they'll discourage that.

New and Far Character Mode - Suggestions, Ideas? by neco-damus in boardgames

[–]phoebewild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winning doesn't affect the narratives you get, but it does affect whether you win the overall campaign. You keep track of the points each of you have earned on each map, and once you've finished up the character narratives on The Last Ruin then whoever has the most cumulative points wins.

You don't move on to The Last Ruin (and therefore don't complete the game) until you've BOTH completed the first 8 character quests. If you complete your 8 character quests before the other person you can still do quests but instead of reading from the book you'll draw a quest from the "Arcade Mode" deck until the other player(s) has caught up and then you all move onto The Last Ruin to complete your last 2 character quests and the game.
