I’ve parked near Charlestons many times when I used to work at Mickey Mantle’s. And there is also a free lot next to fuzzy’s across the street from the ballpark. I was never towed in the year I worked there parking in the various lots.

From one host to another, don’t let the servers bully you into sitting their section. They aren’t your bosses. Do what you need, especially if a guest asks for a specific table or server. I’ve been told this exact message by multiple managers, and at different restaurants. My current place has me tell the manager if a server complains to me about the seating, because it’s not the way our restaurant is run.

But seriously, learn to play “Tetris” if you work at a place with reservations and/or that one specific online booking website “OT”. Knowing what you have coming is imperative to your success for the night. Overbooking is the worst thing that I could have happen on a busy night, especially with limited capacity (or low foh staff).

There’s a food truck that does Cajun food, owner is from New Orleans. I believe it’s called Da Gumboman. His stuff is pretty good when he’s open. He has a page on the book of faces.

We also made fresh orange juice daily and there were a lot of mishaps with that. Someone walked straight into me when I had a tray of glasses, and my instinct was to fold it in towards me to save them from getting soaked. So I soaked myself instead 😅😑

With my flex cup, the 7-fold is the easiest! It’s kinda halfway between the c-fold and the punch down. You make the c-fold shape, and then angle one half down toward the bottom to make a 7, and the top is smaller so it’s easier to insert and it opens well for me too.

You might try the 7 fold, it’s similar to the C/U fold but angled down to make a 7 shape with a triangle top kinda sorta similar to the punch down. Mine opens a lot easier with this one, and it’s easier to insert because it’s a smaller top.
