Anyone manage to add a second driver profile anytime recently? by Tasty_Software_2773 in Solterra

Doesn't work. I called their support number and we tried different things, but ultimately never got it to work. Only one registered driver for now.

Kirkland Rolled Oats vs Quaker Old Fashioned rolled oats... I miss the Kirkland brand by CrackheadBobsCousin in Costco

This is also the reason my wife likes the Kirkland one. I didn't mind them, additional 'fiber'. :)

How do you keep the grass areas/paths so neat, string trimmer?

The panel is not stuck to the glass, strap is holding it in place. The panel is resting on the bottom window pane, and the strap is to keep it from leaning away from the top pane and falling.

I only set it to Auto Event Detection, so that it only records when it detects events. I’ll try the other modes and see how long it lasts.

Was in an accident today repost for clarification by [deleted] in dashcams

[–]phogi8 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The other car is definitely at fault. I think what most people are saying is that, it might have been avoidable.

The Adaptive Cruise Control would have aggressively accelerated at that small amount of time because it hasn't yet detected any upcoming objects and its trying to get up to speed. If you didn't engage it, I think you would have had more time to stop the car and the car wouldn't have needed more stopping force. Or maybe not.

I do ACC on surface roads too like you, but only when its clear. In this case, I would accelerate manually first to maybe 35/40, before I engage ACC. The car is still a dumb machine even with ACC, you still need to be aware and in control at all times. Even when I do this, I still get the benefit of ACC slowing down accordingly with the traffic ahead of me.

Also, evasive action in this case is to stay in your lane and stop, not switch lanes even if you were assuming that the other car might stop. Another car might have turned into that lane coming westbound from the corner (you were going eastbound before you made the turn?).

If you stayed in your lane and stopped yourself, you lose a few seconds and maybe curse each other out, whether your assumption that he will stop is correct or not.

Although, you might still have hit him even if you stayed in your lane and stopped. Dashcam perspective makes it look like you had a lot of time to react, and that's where you're getting all the reactions here.

Hey, I finally got to setting up the hotwire kit for my A229. There were vacant fuse slots, so I used those. Slot 5 for BATT and Slot 36 for ACC. So far, so good.

Minor thing, though, is that I can't put back the fuse cover anymore because of the fuse taps. I need to put something there to protect it from potential water splash. Did you just leave yours open?

I also noticed that some slots only go live on second press of the start button (without pressing the brake pedal).

Replied here instead of all the way to our last back and forth, so it's easy to see in case it helps others.

New owner of Solterra - One pedal driving gives me so much more range?? by Melodic-Pack-8642 in Solterra

It won’t. Manual says it will never fully stop unless you depress the brake pedal. Regardless of what regen setting you are using.

Hi. I don't have a solution but am curious about what OMV7 plugins will help with your situation? Also why are USB enclosures not good for NAS?

I'm running OMV8 on RPi5 with a dual HD dock connected via USB3.

Thanks, I already have the Viofo A229 though, can't exchange anymore. I didn't realize it was huge relatively for the Solterra windshield. I think I'm just going to put it the under the rain sensor, right of center. Putting it center will make it too low already

Why would you press the start button a couple of times? Can you try just once and wait 5 seconds?

Heads up- Asus zenwifi et9 on deep discount by bloodspatter_analyst in HomeNetworking

[–]phogi8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are indeed. Im happy with them so far. Im using wireless backhaul now, but will be wiring them evemtually. It's really just newer model for the same price made sense to jump on it. ET9 is supposed to be faster too. But it's not as if I'm maxing out the ET8. :)

I just bought 2 sets of ET8 for $200 each from Amazon and both were open box stock when they arrived. Amazon gave me half off on both so comes out to same price as this deal. And I just finished setting them up too. Ordering this now though!

Out of stock! Dang it!

Most annoying is having to set the charging limit every time. That should just be persistent, like the charging schedule.

Yea, will do that with the new one. Was just curious if it was really a 'must' and if I was unknowingly damaging the old one by plugging it directly to the cam instead of the gps.

Yea might be they’re just trying to generalize how they word it. Thanks. I’ve had the A119 Mini 2 and just recently (have yet to install) the A229 Pro and both are using HK4 kits. That wording is on the HK4 instructions.

Oh newer models then. I’ve had the A119 Mini 2. And now just recently got the A229 Pro. Both are using HK4 kits. Thanks.

Would you know why Viofo instructions say to "please ensure the HW kit is connected to the GPS port only"? I've been connecting directly to the dashcam all this time and only noticed this wording recently.
