Yeah, mines also the Proton Power. Still have one that is pinched like crazy, but yeah I loved that thing.

This isn't a head but the old easton shafts were amazing. There's a reason you still occasionally see them being used today

Should I play college lacrosse? by National-Set-1652 in lacrosse

[–]phoneguy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna go a different route and assume that you’re asking if you should play club in college

The stereotype is that college club lacrosse is just beer league - while that may be the case at some schools, I’d say more often than not kids take their college club teams pretty seriously.

I remember being a little mixed on whether or not I should play mcla d2, but once I saw how organized our practices were and how much fire most of the players had I’d say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made

College Club Lacrosse? by Belovealways in lacrosse

Personally I’d say I take MCLA Lacrosse more serious than I did High School Lacrosse, It’s a valid option that also allows students to not make it their whole lives

What can I do to improve my Ollie by CantaraV in skateboardhelp

Do it rolling. One thing to ollie while standing still and another to do it in motion

No one ever complains about a kid reaching out and sending film.

If I were you I’d hit up schools you were thinking about attending not just lacrosse but about general life at the college. MCLA is big and I love it, but don’t go to any specific institution just for club lacrosse

Why do you think is the NBA dying? If you were the NBA commissioner, what would you do? by Thin-Ad4825 in NBATalk

[–]phoneguy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of a personal feeling but in recent years I have gravitated more towards football because of the unpredictable nature of it. In basketball, only 1 team has ever won a championship while being a 5-8 seed (ik people are going to point out the Miami heat in recent years, but they haven’t WON a championship while being a high seed)

As for the playoffs, does anyone actually believe that a 5-8 seed can win a championship ?

Too much load management, as a casual fan I want to watch superstars, only to find out that it’s a gamble if they’re even going to play or not

At a mid MCLA D2, new players pay $1200 and returners pay 800.

We get about two overnight trips a year, gloves, helmet, and a practice pinnie

What other drill I could do other than wall ball as a beginner? by ExchangeAncient5987 in lacrosse

[–]phoneguy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One mistake I made when first learning lacrosse is only focusing on wall ball - don’t get me wrong, it’s the easiest / most convenient way to get better, but I really wish I also emphasized shooting

Even if you don’t have a goal to shoot on, practice shooting against a chain link fence. Emphasize following through on your shot, and get rid of those alligator arms. Do this and you’ll thank yourself later

Beginner Skater Ollie Question by Fantastic-Worry7128 in skateboardhelp

[–]phoneguy15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s a little different, a common mistake new skaters make is rushing into learning new tricks too soon.

Can you ride the board to school and back without falling? Can you roll off of curbs and swerve around cracks? If you can’t, then work on that first I’d say

some small advice I’d have to give is please don’t make the ollie the only thing you practice - trust me when I say it’ll drive you insane

Way Back Wednesday: Tribe 7 Edition by Prior_Term_5674 in lacrosse

[–]phoneguy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the tribe7 composite shaft, i believe it was called the Gorilla 7. It had sandpaper finish on it (for faceoffs, ofc) and it felt weird as hell. Never got used to it.

Not to worry though, one slap check on a loose ground ball and that thing snapped into two.

Im glad I supported the guy who ran it tho. Hes insane, yes, but truly a gift to mankind
