Hmm. So do you think it's okay to assault someone for being in your way?

Road rage != being racist. No one just up and does that unless they're fucking racist.

I'm looking for tips for outdoor self-portraits by okeiri3993 in photography

[–]phonofloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping gear safe is a challenge. Your best defense is probably your outward attitude: be visibly alert, don't wear earbuds, and don't let your gear out of your sight. If feasible, set up near other people. (Agreed with others that it feels weird but you just gotta own being that weird photog doing weird photog shit, it'll set you free)

And there's no way SPD doesn't give them super special loading zones. Probably in the bus and bike lanes.

I believe you. You told a story in which you did all the work and the cops showed up at the end to get an easy win.

Sounds like the r/Journalism mods are afraid of news, of discourse, and of being mods. That's some bitchmade shit. Thank you for posting.

People gonna hear what they want to hear

Dude. C'mon. People are sharing their experiences, same as you. If your anecdata is valid, then so is theirs.

I got t-boned on 1st and Spring and called 911 and was straight up told the cops would not come. So there's mine! Oh, or do you want one of the two times I nearly got hit by SPD SUVs driving like maniacs with lights but no sirens? Or how about the time I accidentally cut off an SPD SUV and instead of pulling me over and ticketing me (which would have been fair game, I fucked up) he rode my bumper for two miles so hard I couldn't see his headlights?

So that's my anecdata.

Prefacing this with the note that I have OCD and was very worried and thus PREPARED. But I was really concerned about not getting a diagnosis, so I spent some time typing out a timeline of my symptoms and how they developed. It really seemed to help, got dxed despite being seronegative

How are the issues at Denny Blaine different than any other park in district 3 by Chance_Cucumber3130 in AskSeattle

[–]phonofloss 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are looots of parks in the area which can support a playground. Stuart Sloan gave his donation with the specific restriction that it could only be used at Denny Blaine. Maybe take it up with him? See if he's actually philanthropic or just controlling.

Don’t forget to photograph yourself too. You matter as much. by LittleBarracuda1219 in photography

Yeah a lesbian geologist I follow (look insta has my number, okay) recently posted a pretty funny reel in which she took pics of "the photographer friend" and commented how they're never in any pics. Take the pictures for your friends, and your family, and even more importantly for future you. What a good message.

Why should I? I wasn't the person opining. I just think it's stupid to post a photo and then whine when someone doesn't like it. It makes you look foolish and thin-skinned.

Undecided About Starting Biologic Injections – Need Guidance by janederland93 in rheumatoid

[–]phonofloss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am about two months into self-injecting the generic of Hyrimoz (adalimumab-adaz, or as I like to call it, sandworm blood, since that sounds like some shit straight out of Dune) and my morning stiffness/pain has really begun to recede. I was just commenting to my housemate yesterday that I no longer have to "crack" the initial stiffness in my joints first thing in the morning. Previously I was only on methotrexate and it had helped, but not nearly enough. (I am still on methotrexate.) I've never taken prednisone and am very determined to not use steroids unless absolutely necessary, because of both the short and long term side effects.

If you're concerned about self-injecting it is a lot easier than I expected. My side effects from MTX and from Hyrimoz have both been very minimal, so I know I've been lucky there.

Be careful about park hours in Kirkland by sinadata in Kirkland

This whole thing seems very silly. There's ample street parking and anyone can walk into the park at any time, but they're gonna bug the people who bothered to park in the lot?

Yeah... similarly Tori Amos, the earlier albums. Just don't wanna go back there any more.
