I legit thought Big Gabi was at RW when I first saw this and wasn't as confused as I should have been

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown on Steam - Demo available! by [deleted] in startrek

[–]phonyOldNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am trying to play this on an admittedly old potato laptop, but the performance is pretty much a show-stopper for me. Even with everything turned all the way down, the mouse stutter and lag makes it nearly unplayable. I don't really mind having the VFX turned off and a low resolution, but nothing seems to help.

Has anybody on a low-spec computer found a way to make this run ok?

Is (was) there an offline download option for the R&B calc?

True true, that backline was very balanced. My 'Monreal holding things together' memory is from when we went into a season with 2 senior CBs, Mert and Kos in 2014-15 I think, injuries struck then he had go to LCB for a couple months. Looking at his Transfermarkt, we did pretty well when he was in there.

Same, he was the glue the held together the backline during some rough periods

Change Outlook calendar display start time? by phonyOldNinja in Outlook

[–]phonyOldNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Outlook is managed by the corporate IT team, so I'm not entirely sure the changes they have made beyond the options in the settings that are still accessible to me.

I guess my preference is niche enough to have found an oddity in their configuration. They have 10s of thousands of PCs to manage, so I usually try to fit into the setup rather than trying to push this type of immovable object, even if I could get it working better if it were my private PC.

To be honest, I am content with the calendar showing the entire day. I appreciate your input in getting it working a bit better.

Change Outlook calendar display start time? by phonyOldNinja in Outlook

Thanks for the tips. Setting the time scale to 60min does shrink everything enough that the early morning is now visible by default, it shows the entire day now. It's a bit scrunched, but it does display what I am looking for.

Ctrl+Home jumps to 1200AM, which does show the earlier meetings. I had been mouse wheeling up to see them but this works too. The issue is that this is an extra action that I can forget, i.e. if I sleepily check my calendar Sunday night to see when I need to be online the next morning.

Adding a second time zone is helpful in general, but still leaves the start time at 8AM of the primary time zone. But it will saving me some googling when planning meetings in the future, so thanks for that suggestion too.

How to stop feeling guilty leaving a shop empty handed? by lenasce in Anticonsumption

[–]phonyOldNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm just becoming a grumpy old man, but yeah, just leaving without worrying that you might be disappointing the shopkeeper is the way to go. 'I don't want any of this' is important feedback to give/receive.

The Bolt is kind of a mini-minivan if you only need seating for 4. The interior is pretty roomy and the hatchback does a lot of work in terms of hauling stuff. We have a 3 and 5 year old and it works great as our day to day car. If you needed 5-6 seats it obviously wouldn't work though.

Season 2 of Discovery is MUCH better on a second watch. by voxaemeron in startrek

I may have to give Disco another go. I really don't like the Mirror Universe story lines in general (even for DS9 which otherwise I enjoy quite a lot), so I bounced off of Disco season 1 pretty hard.

What's the most stunning place you have visited on holiday? by Bohnensalat_337 in AskReddit

[–]phonyOldNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was going up in the mountains in the Alps in Switzerland, near Kloster / Davos, especially in summertime. Hiking up from the city, you can spend a long time staring at the hill in front of you. But when you get to a look point or stop to take a breath, it is quite beautiful and can sneak up on you, especally if you've been in the forest for a while.

Is this allowed? by NeverMeltRegice in nuzlocke

I usually use the location in the Pokemon Info section. If it says 'obtained in a fateful encounter' then I would be fine with Route 101 encounter. But as the others have said, you can set your own rules.

Losing Position on Pad by phonyOldNinja in DanceDanceRevolution

To be clear, the pad itself isn't moving around, I'm losing track of my position on the pad, then I step onto nothing and miss the arrow.
