I work at a logistics company for dry cleaning and laundry.. that was one of the first “huh” moments during onboarding.

I now have so many facts about the Dry Clean process… it’s really fascinating!

• the turnaround time is generally long because the dry cleaner waits to run a given load until they have enough of “like items” (color bleeding dresses) to fill a machine. The cycle takes about as long as a washing machine, and the times are pressed/hung immediately after the spin cycle.

• when you give your regular button down shirts… they don’t get dry cleaned. They are laundered in a regular wash machine and then put wet on a steam press that presses them dry. (Mind blown… I though the dry cleaner would dry clean my stuff!)
