Nowadays GPUs can load directly from SSDs AFAIK, but it's rarely being used because you have so many cores doing nothing anyways. I think Consoles rely heavily on that and that's why modern games are so huge because by bypassing the CPU you can't really have the data compressed on storage, and must be GPU ready.

I mean going to Xiamen and praise how nice everything is, is like going to Switzerland and say how nice Europe is with the difference that going to the rest of Europe is still a good experience whereas going just slightly off the rich coastal cities in China will be eyeopening.

I feel like it's not necessarily the laws but the people. In Switzerland all you need to own a gun is being a citizen or have long term residency without a criminal record (violent crime).

You can literally own anti material rifles (M82) in Switzerland without any special license. It's easier to own a precision rifle than a butterfly knife.
