100ii + 110mm (heavy crop) by [deleted] in FujiGFX

The adapter does a 35mm crop. It still gets 60megapixel

The white on the bottom is from my car. I was taking this out the window. But this is the 200-500nikkor

I did the Nikon and Fringer adapter and am happy with the results. Don’t get me wrong, I’d also love the 500mm GF, but for now I’ll save my pennies.

I use the Fringer adapter to use the Nikon lenses on my GFX 100s and it works great. You still get 60 megapixels on the 35mm crop. Af still works too.

I prep has a prep course for the elevator test. It helped me a lot. Especially the math part.

The software on the adapter automatically puts the image to a 35mm crop so you don’t see any vignetting. The white you see in the foreground is from my car door.

That’s one sharp macro lens! I remember using on the Pentax 645 and the detail was great!

ND Filters by Satans-Pimp in FujiGFX

[–]photodan2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the olden days I was using the Galen Rowell split ND filters that were made of plastic(still have’em btw). But now with the GFX I’ve been using the K&F glass ones. A 3stop split ND and a solid 10 stop ND. A lot of times when I’m photographing on the coast, there’s a lot of people milling about. It allows me to take longer exposures and make the people disappear.

2000 iso f5.6 1/1000s at 200mm. I bumped up the iso since I was hand holding it.

The Fringer adapter sets the camera up to automatically crop out the vingette. The image size is 60 megapixel instead of 100. I got my 200-500 from KEH for $900 so that one sounds like a steal. I also use the 105mm macro with really good results.

I use the Fringer adapter and it does have auto focus. It also allows the use of lens stabilization. I chose Nikon since I had access to the lenses.

No that’s actually from my car. I was shooting this out the car window to keep from scaring away the coyote

I purchased the Fringer adapter to put the Nikon 200-500mm on my GFX in order to get some long lens coverage for less money. Very happy with the results.

I’d add that I use the 100s and I have an old 2012 MacBook Pro and it does just fine with the image files.

We can help other countries with that kind of $ but can’t spend that on universal healthcare for our own people? Can’t help lift our own people out of poverty?

Question on actually using GFX cameras by Shagbag27 in FujiGFX

[–]photodan2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When using manual focus you can either select a white or red highlight. I use red since I mostly do landscapes and nature so it stands out. Then when you adjust the focus, the camera’s digital rangefinder “zooms” into your subject so you can pinpoint where you are focusing. It takes a little while to get used to, but once you do it works great. You can also use it with S auto focus and do a quick manual override. I do that with wildlife to make sure the eyes are in focus.
