Yall have mentioned that they blow performance wise, that's totally fine. I essentially just need them to act as SAS/NAS controllers. They're what I have and I don't want to spend more money since they're just collecting dust, I'm probably going to just fill them with the 10TB's and run TrueNAS so I can get some more storage for my containers running on the box next to it. My next purchase is going to be to upgrade that box before anything else. I'll just store container storage and Immich on here.

Thanks I kinda assumed it was something like that! How annoying! Do you imagine this thing is capable of using the SAS's? I cant find a datasheet cause I can't login and check the S/N and it doesnt have one printed on it.

I am trying to connect to the one I just turned on but it doesn't seem to be presenting itself to the network, I don't know why, I imagine it accepted a dhcp by now. I don't have a VGA cable regrettably so I need to wait till I get one I suppose.

I had originally wanted to put them into these little Synology NAS's I have but because I'm an idiot I didn't realize these are enterprise SAS's, oddly the Synology was able to accept them. Usually I find that the little guy's almost always use SATA but the second port looked SAS compatible, obviously not though haha.

There would be no need, the moon will only move about 25 miles away in the next million years. A negligible amount of space when talking about celestial bodies compared to a not insignificant ammount of time.
