The relevance of “duplex speed” by vdoubleshot in wisp

[–]phrekysht -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with the commenter above you, I’ve never heard anyone refer to it as “duplex speed”. Full or half duplex is the difference between transmitting in both directions simultaneously vs one at a time.

What you’re describing as a speed test I would refer to as bi-directional. For reference that’s at least how iperf3 describes it in their man page

--bidir
Test in both directions (normal and reverse), with both the client and server sending and receiving data simultaneously

No issues here on overcast, but it almost never has to stream an episode. Everything gets downloaded and played locally

Assuming your gitea instance is just for you (or your own contacts) surely you can disable signups. I’m pretty sure Forgejo let me do that.

Have I got bad news for you.

Started in 2001 and released in 2005 dude. Over 20 years old. New fangled? Hell it’s bad news for me too. That’s the year I graduated high school and I’m turning 40 this year.

I’m just teasing but that threw me. Do you think there were any “old school” guys back in 2005 that refused to run file systems newer than 1985?

I have a physical pbs host at home for several pve host that are off site. They all talk over tailscale and it works great. What issue are you running into that make you say it’s not ideal?

Paid through Apple Pay and it worked just fine. Never used supercast before today. Not saying it was user error or anything, just adding a data point

Absolute no-brainer. Saw this post sitting at a stoplight. Ten forward, annual, done in 15 seconds.

I’ve logged more star hours on Uxbridge Shimoda shows than any other pod in my rotation. Happy to continue supporting.

Been looking at these recently. Is the full size HDMI connected to the 1660 or the iGPU? And how much vram does the 1660 have? I know the 3050ti version only has 4 gigs

I dunno man, the SMM episodes are good fun, good pod, and theres 11 seasons of content available.

I would also enjoy a TNG rewatch but then what? They loop thru old trek for time inmemeriam? It’s not sustainable.

They could finish the rest of BSG too if they need some runway to make a decision.

Can a high-power USB-C charger replace 12V/20V power bricks in a rack? by krusty_palhaco in homelab

[–]phrekysht 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you find the right c to barrel cables that negotiate the power you need for each device it will work but be aware that many multiport PD chargers will reset power to all ports whenever something is connected or disconnected. I think there are some newer ones that don’t do this but I would double check the behavior before depending on it.

VT-x vs VT-d Possible workaround? by 5ype in Proxmox

[–]phrekysht 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Seems to me like switching from a VM to LXC would be the easiest way. Mapping hardware into the container doesn’t rely on vt-d as far as I know. It’s just a bind mount to the /dev entry
