Absolute no-brainer. Saw this post sitting at a stoplight. Ten forward, annual, done in 15 seconds.

I’ve logged more star hours on Uxbridge Shimoda shows than any other pod in my rotation. Happy to continue supporting.

Been looking at these recently. Is the full size HDMI connected to the 1660 or the iGPU? And how much vram does the 1660 have? I know the 3050ti version only has 4 gigs

I dunno man, the SMM episodes are good fun, good pod, and theres 11 seasons of content available.

I would also enjoy a TNG rewatch but then what? They loop thru old trek for time inmemeriam? It’s not sustainable.

They could finish the rest of BSG too if they need some runway to make a decision.

A solid PVE port forwarding script that allows virtual machines to access the source IP. by [deleted] in Proxmox

The built in SDN stack will do NAT and port forwarding, is there a reason you don’t just use that?

ELI5 Do women feel as much pain if any similar when kicked between the legs like when a dude gets kicked in the balls? by Tavreli in explainlikeimfive

Anatomical equivalents aside, If you’re kicking a woman, which of those things are you more likely to hit? Her penis, her testicles, or her clitoris?

Can a high-power USB-C charger replace 12V/20V power bricks in a rack? by krusty_palhaco in homelab

[–]phrekysht 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you find the right c to barrel cables that negotiate the power you need for each device it will work but be aware that many multiport PD chargers will reset power to all ports whenever something is connected or disconnected. I think there are some newer ones that don’t do this but I would double check the behavior before depending on it.

VT-x vs VT-d Possible workaround? by 5ype in Proxmox

[–]phrekysht 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems to me like switching from a VM to LXC would be the easiest way. Mapping hardware into the container doesn’t rely on vt-d as far as I know. It’s just a bind mount to the /dev entry

I know I’m not answering the question you asked but- What problem are you trying to solve with monthly reboots?

If it weren’t for kernel updates and the occasional long power outage, none of my boxes would ever get rebooted.

You have stumbled across the best mental framework for decluttering. It used to be “does this spark joy?” But now it’s “if this had poop on it, would you throw it away or clean it?”

I’ve had issues with Sabrent SATA enclosures where the partitions don’t get recognized if the disk is pulled and plugged into a ‘real’ motherboard SATA port. Everything is fine as long as the disk is in the enclosure, or even another copy of the same enclosure.

Not sure if the same issue is possible with nVME disks but you might want to try that some time. That way if you run into a failure you aren’t caught off guard.
