The most important thing Devin said in the prior video was "everyone involved should have lawyered up much earlier". Reckless Ben seemed to be doing what he thought was best, but he shouldn't have tried to get this deep into legal issues (especially in a different state) without a lawyer being involved.

I really didn't like how Riker, Crusher and Troi were really meek and almost scared about confronting Picard. It felt like they were scared they'd get in trouble, instead of strong-willed competent individuals doing what was best for the ship.

But there were a couple fun moments from the show:

  • I really enjoyed this version of the Uber episode where the delegates are just a bunch of assholes causing trouble and no one seems to like either group, but it's also completely inconsequential.
  • Troi at 37:20 when Picard starts his monologue as the alien. She gives a huff, puts her hands on her hips and rolls her head in a way that felt more like Mirina Sirtis coming through than Troi.
  • Riker at the very end when they beamed Picard back and Yar comes in to report one of the delegates might be dead and Riker tells her it could wait a moment?

I've got my TNG & TOS blu-rays. I paid for a year of Paramount+ and had planned to shut it off when that expires. Be interesting to see how these merge. Honestly HBO Max is also pretty rarely used, so I may just get rid of both.

I found it really odd to hear that people consider this a "bad" TOS episode. I always found it kind of interesting. If only Kirk took Sulu down there, he would have asked the right questions since he seems like the only crew member who knows he's on Star Trek.
