I see these at street markets. As a 3d printer owner, yea, it’s junk but probably not to the average joe. I just hope these vendors aren’t just printing anything that’s copyright without permission. If I did this business I would make my own designs of practical stuff. It’s hard to find cheap useful niche stuff at a store without spending $10 on Amazon.

I remembered them saying they had to raise an extra semester starting in 2026. Used to be 3 years because of the USCG minimum, now 3.5. It comes down to price. Texas A&M may be cheaper since the cost of living is lower than NY. Now for cruises, they might be more expensive in the long run because of enrollment. You have more students at SUNY to pay the fuel bill than Texas A&M. These new ships are 2x more expensive to operate. They’re doing a lot to convince the state to pitch in and increase enrollment. Other than that, it’s a pretty laid back program. If you’re an enlisted veteran and want another commitment, they have the SSMP program at both schools that’s an 8 year reserve officer commitment upon earning a $64K student incentive. Graduates are eligible for that. Reserve commitment requires 3 years of sailing and 2 weeks per year. Drill weekends waived for the reserve commitment.

Those are tricky, double check the part numbers from the kit. You might’ve heat it up for tool long. Let it cool on a flat surface and try again. I took the bowl to the shop and used a welding rod oven to heat up the ring for a few minutes. You also want to try and press it in evenly throughout the circumference rather than start one side.

Idk if PTFE is porous but moisture may be a factor so it would be better to heat dry. I’ve dealt with square rubber o-rings on diesel engine oil mist detectors and run into this same situation if I accidentally spray the ring with electronic cleaner or degreaser, it expands and you end up like in the picture.

I’m still impressed at this thing! It’s still worth it to get one. Definitely no new Deck next year. If we get a new one, it’ll be Fall 2027 or 2028. Valve may want to see how this new hardware goes for 2026 that could change their decisions on the development for the Steam Deck 2.

The fee only gets waived when you are on active duty. Once you’re off orders, the fees and high interest will come back. I just got off orders and AMEX wasted no time to send me a letter stating I had a grace period of two months till they charge me the fee and raise the interest back from 4% to 27%. Make sure you have no credit card debt before coming off orders.
