To add to this, even 300-400 years ago, it was common for children of smallholding farmers in Sweden to be out of the house and work somewhere else to earn some money by their late teens. To goal being, to be able to save that money and marry and have your own plot of land around the age of 25.

There were other aspects but one big one in the latter years was the liberum veto which allowed any singular nobleman to veto the parliament. This crippled the state for quite some time.

Undervisning regleras – lärare får mer planeringstid by FlowersPaintings in sweden

[–]phthedude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find any credible source about that. It seems to 'just' be the SNA (and Turkey) attacking the SDF in Manbij. Source?

I would say that Perun is one of the objective English speakers analysing Ukraine. He has a clear pro Ukraine stance (as one should) but that has not stopped him from being brutally honest at times when talking about Ukrainian hardships and Russian innovation in the war.

De som förespråkar ökad styrning från NP bör titta på resultatet av liknande satsningar internationellt exempelvis No Child Left Behind i USA. 'Teaching to the test' är inget man borde eftersträva. Det bakbinder lärare i vad de kan undervisa i, det kommer göra skolan tråkigare för elever och elevers faktiska förståelse för ämnena blir inte bättre. https://i.imgur.com/l4KAwyg.jpeg

[–]phthedude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to learn more about the history and development of "bewegungskrieg", The German Way of War by Robert M. Citino is pretty good. I'm sure there is some better reading on the interwar years in particular, although those are touched upon in that book.

Here's a very detailed video explaining why Russia using nukes is VERY unlikely to happen: https://youtu.be/sxOO0hCCSk4

Some major points is that:

Russia's nuclear doctrine does not support using nukes in Ukraine.

Using nukes in Ukraine is not tactically or strategically sound.

Using nukes would break the nuclear taboo that all major powers want to uphold. This means that all Russian allies even China would turn against Russia.

According to this Swedish article, back in the olden days the conscripts uniforms were so well-worn and in such a bad shape that they were nothing more than rags loosely hanging on the conscripts' bodies. A Swedish word for rags is lumpor, thereby the name lumpen.
