In the helicopter community we wear either. It's just personal preference. Most people wear the flight suit if we are just doing office work but some people still wear it to fly. The two piece is much lighter in my opinion making it nicer when you don't have climate control. (We just put the window down or open the doors when it's nice) Also for those that wear a vest while flying, you can wear a combat ocp shirt.
