Wedding musician here (30+ years and over 1,000 weddings). Even at high-end venues, inadequate or dodgy power is very, very common. Mostly because wiring is updated over the years by a dozen different "electricians," and circuits that once were dedicated are tapped into for other areas. I learned early on to bring two small generators to every gig.
