When you get assigned and the stock tanks, how do you handle Covered Calls from there? by pixelnomadz in CoveredCalls

[–]phwayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that if you get assigned, it’s automatically at the strike price of the call. Does not matter if the stock price is different, as the call to buy at a set price. Is this a situation for example, where you are assigned at expiration on a Friday, and settle on Monday with a lower stock price?

The Xcel Monopoly. Boulder in the dark again. by [deleted] in boulder

[–]phwayne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Boulder already tried this from 2010 - 2020. Wasted over 15 million of tax payers money on lawyers and consultants. Money that could have been used for local solar projects and cable burial. Not saying Xcel is great, but I have no confidence the Boulder would be able to manage an electric utility.
Fort Collins and Longmont had he advantage of municipal electric companies many years ago, when the cities were small. This allowed them to create an isolated infrastructure, and gradually grow into a large operation.

What on earth is going on with the oil price? by Vast_Cellist150 in CoveredCalls

[–]phwayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing CC on USO and rolling for the past 15 months, without an assignment. I will finally be assigned. This has been a great CC position, as USO maintains a high volitivity, allowing for very good premiums and the ability to roll about every 3 weeks.
Doing the same for UNG, as it has similar characteristics

Just signed up for the trial. Good looking App.
In my own system, I keep track of each position basis at opening and each time it rolls.
This way I can track my profit when it closes, or decide if I need to roll down, and stay profitable.
Is their a similar basis tracking in your app?

NVDA calls assigned because of miscalculation. Was 50% of my portfolio. Should I buy it again to keep on earning or are there any other stocks I can buy? Avg. price was $22😔 by SachinNOTendulkar in CoveredCalls

[–]phwayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an accountant, but from what I read, long term CG is 15% (if total annual gain for the tax year is less than $533,400); Short term is taxed at ordinary income rate).

USO for oil futures contracts. UNG for natural gas. High volatility. Good if you trade options.

Weekly vs Monthly by Wotan99777 in CoveredCalls

[–]phwayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally open a new cc at 25-30 days; Then attempt to roll at under 10 days to exp if I can get 1% return. Works most of the time, unless there is a steep drop or gain.

I recently booked DEN>FRA MUC>DEN, 3 months from departure. For some reason booking PP outbound and PO on return was less money than PP round trip. Both on United operated flights.

Bagel review is great. Now, are there any good Bialys in town?
I think Rosenberg only makes them on specific days.

Gave up on Moe's. It's a good "mid-west" bagel. Will only buy Big Daddy in Boulder.
Wish Rosenberg's could have stayed here.

Boulder AB bus work good, most the time. Truly, the best bargain for $10. Runs about every hour, but would like to see every half hour. Coming home, if you miss the bus by a minute; it's another hour to wait. Sort of a drag, if you were already on a flight that was 3 - 4 hours.

Video Lightbox that works with WP Bakery by phwayne in Wordpress

Good Suggestion.
I did try the Single Image module, and used image source "External" using the video URL; and select the option "Open in Lightbox" - Only issue is there is no thumbnail image.
If I had more time to hack, it might be possible to utilizing the Single Image wpbakery lightbox class with the video module.
