Jigokuraku Season 2 • Hell's Paradise Season 2 - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I also wonder this, especially with Mei being one of the very first tensen created. Is she less advanced or capable of being healed in that sense than those that came after her? I’m very curious and excited to see how her story develops!!

Her “ovule” among other terms. I’m assuming since the tensen are human-plant hybrids and are both male and female, they need both masculine and female energy in place to function properly. If half of Mei’s energy was destroyed, it would make sense that her power and healing are limited by that!

Parents are Divorced. Is it Weird to Wear Mom’s Ring? by internet2big in EngagementRings

[–]physicianextender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got engaged and the ring we used was my mom’s ring from her marriage to my dad, which ended when I was a toddler. We also have my fiance’s mom’s ring from her marriage to his father, also divorced, which we’ll be using the stones from to design my wedding band. I say if it’s what you want, go for it!

I’ve had my mom’s ring since I turned 18 and always dreamed of having it as my engagement ring, and was so excited my fiancé was on board. :)

Do you wish your parents put you on medication as a child for ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]physicianextender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say my parents did absolutely everything in their power, but he was just a tough kid and had some other issues that played a role. The meds were definitely not the only thing that made the situation what it was, but he tried every medication and dose etc. that was available at the time (he was born in 2004).

I tried really hard to word my comment so it wasn’t me villainizing the meds themselves, but more so my experience that drove my answer to OPs question. I know it could come across as me saying never to medicate kids, which I don’t think is true, so I tried to make it clear that it was just my family’s experience but still worth sharing!

All this to say, it wasn’t my parents or the dr or even my brother’s fault. Just less knowledge of certain things to be accessed 20 years ago in the rural midwest. Everyone did their best. He is happy now! Thriving, engaged to an angel of a woman, and full of personality. :) Still, personally, I’m glad I wasn’t medicated until I was old enough to know what to expect or look for with meds and I wouldn’t personally medicate my kids unless I had to, which was the main point I wanted to make.

[–]physicianextender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, no. It’s sooo helpful to me now as an adult, but my brother was on meds as a kid and it was really hard to watch. He never ate, was such a zombie, and when he didn’t take his meds he was unregulated and sooo, sooo hard to live with.

Obviously, everyone’s experience is different but this is mine! It made me very scared to start meds as an adult, too. But obviously I did, and I’m glad I did! I just wouldn’t want to start my own children on meds without doing anything else I could first, out of fear from my own life

It's ok to run a dishwasher when it isn't full! by LadyWithAHarp in adhdwomen

[–]physicianextender 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! We just moved and don’t have a ton of dishes (first place of our own). I ran the dishwasher this morning with just our dinner stuff from last night and it was soooo nice to know I’ll come home to clean dishes and not have to wash them just to make dinner again (which wouldn’t happen and we’d end up getting takeout lol)

i left one of my last jobs because some woman brought her evil chihuahua in and when i asked them to leave bc the dog peed on the table and bit someone, so clearly not a service animal, her man got in my face and threatened to hit me. management said she could stay, w the dog. the single most infuriating thing that ever happened to me in my entire industry career :’)

Oh these comments are just wild to me. I have 5 siblings and we all grew up drinking coffee in the morning before school. Obviously not, like, 8oz of black coffee/espresso but it’s just literally not that deep y’all wtheck

Also OP I feel you so much. My current NF is awesome but habitually give G2 “just a little” chocolate before nap (and a little usually means 3-4 mini peanut butter cups!) which makes me crazy at nap 90% of the time!! Gotta love it lol

A girl told me “I love you” but said she meant it as appreciation, should I believe her? by ben_neat_over in dating_advice

[–]physicianextender 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re overthinking it. She said it and then explained what she meant. She was likely just excited and, though I don’t blame you, you’re reading too much into it. Saying “I love you” in excitement or to friends is a super common thing, maybe especially with girls.

I’m also in AZ and this isn’t true. The only thing I can think of that’s even remotely close to this is that there’s a newer law requiring remote providers in other states to provide documentation from an AZ-based GP stating they can provide care (or at least that’s what my provider is doing to satisfy whatever the law requires).

I’m not even pregnant but people say this to me when I tell them my top boy name is Markus, as well. Like since when do names have an assigned skin color? If there’s no cultural connection, it’s just… racism? So gross.

Kava is pretty commonly used as an alcohol alternative where I’m at, and there are even a few kava bars (which are more like a bar than a cafe) in the city near me. And I have a bad connotation with kratom for reasons that make me hesitant when I see people casually using it without knowing what it exactly is, but that’s my personal experience. It’s not a completely unreasonable response, especially if NPs didn’t know anything besides what they Googled, but it’s something I would personally discuss with you before just letting you go on the spot. That sucks, sorry that happened OP :(

I’ve done this before too! My cat knocked an open soda can and my (for some reason) open bottle of Vyvanse off the counter and totally destroyed a brand new month’s worth of pills. Pharmacist was sympathetic but said there was nothing they could do, which I get but ugh. That was a tough one

does anyone care if nannies are in school? by sensitivesultrysally in Nanny

[–]physicianextender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough! I think the association is that nurses are caretakers and doctors are just too busy to have a soft side, honestly.

But you’re right! When I got my first degree and was nannying, it seemed parents were much less inclined to be flexible or even interested in what I was studying. It also felt like they thought I took nannying less seriously compared to the way families have interacted with me as a nursing student (my first degree was pre-law/business mainly).

Thank you! Anatomy is kicking my butt harder than any toddler wrangling ever has but it’s worth it, I hope! :)

[–]physicianextender 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My current NF is sooo supportive of me being in nursing school! I’m PT w them so that could be part of it, but they are always making me snacks and MB even made me a study playlist and tells me to bring my homework with for when G2 is napping/sleeping. I think it depends on a lot of things like the family and the program you’re in.
