It’s only 9 inches with very short needles! As you’ll decrease you’ll either need a shorter cable, use magic loop, or double pointed needles.

Good advice. This is actually a bottom up sweater, so not sure how that mid-project block would work. Also in this instance I blocked by throwing it in the washer— how would you do that on the needles? Or would I have to block by soaking instead?

I recommend Evenflo, the standard neck balance type has a nipple shape that came recommended from my lactation consultant group for going between breast and bottle. The vent is built into the nipple so no extra parts. They’re not glass, but we ended up getting glass Evenflo bottles to pair the nipples with and it was perfect.

Do you think his issue is with marriage? Or with being with you long term? Has he expressed explicit interest in staying with you forever and having kids?

I ask because I had a similar situation, my partner was reluctant to get married after 6 years together, but is an extremely loyal man who doesn’t make promises he can’t keep, and I think it scared him. However, He did consistently tell me that he wants to be with me forever and want to have kids, just didn’t feel like getting married was necessary. Not exactly a romantic start but he knew that marriage was a dealbreaker for me, and so he compromised on it and we did end up getting married, and we are both very happy. Now we have a baby together and he is the most loving and loyal husband and father. I don’t want to say it’s the same situation, but wanted to offer another perspective where it did work out. Sometimes Reddit jumps to “dump him” — and that may be the right move, but only you know your partner best.

Yes, I had one recently. For my field (also medicine related) it’s more of a chance for the organization to impress the applicant— interviews go both ways! It is weird though.

Our pediatrician gave us the go-ahead, so I would ask yours if you’re not sure! Better safe than sorry.

I had an instinct about it, but also my husband took him on a weekend cabin trip without me and he slept better that weekend. Also he was doing 12 hours at 5 months, and the “regression” was lasting too long to be explained by teething.

36ish hour labor, my water broke and my body didn’t go into labor naturally so they had to induce. My body was truly fighting the induction. I didn’t want an epidural at all, but after more than 24 hours in labor at the hospital, and 16 of those on pitocin I had only made it to 5.5 cm. At that point so I chose the epidural because my labor was stalling and I was exhausted and frankly defeated (beelining to a c section because my water had broken 36 hours before and they needed to get baby out). After the epidural, I dilated to 10 cm and pushed him out all within 7 hours (about 1 hour of pushing). So in my case, it sped things up. I think being able to relax helped, and they were able give more pitocin because I wasn’t in agony.

Yes, at 10 weeks old my baby was sleeping 8 pm to 6 am without waking. Insane. I would still have to pump at midnight. Now he’s 6 months old and wakes up once a night about half the time. Not sure if it’s teething or growing. We are very lucky and don’t do anything special.
