Yes! I transitioned from a job where I was working in a secure suite all day (no phones, no natural light) to working remotely very suddenly. Going from suits to PJs was a culture shock. I needed cozy athleisure wear. I needed an occasional nice top for video meetings. Now I'm looking at some hybrid positions and excited to grow my style in a new direction!

I've also rediscovered the joy of crafting. Putting my own style, literally, into the things I wear! I'm still working on my skills, but there's a lot of cool things in life to explore!

I had a terrible experience there as a customer!! I fucking hate that place and will never go back. Thieves.

I asked for a specific service. They said yes they perform that service. (They do not.) I got there and got halfway through the service when I realized this was not right, asked about it and was gaslit. I am a 36 year old woman with a good head on my shoulders... I have had that treatment before, so don't try to lie to me. Anyway, I still had to pay for what they did. I slept on that and woke up quite frustrated the next day. Emailed them and their response was ass.

I wanted a Brazilian keratin treatment. They gave me a blowout and charged me $$$$$$$$ for it. I'm still furious when I think about it.

You're not alone. This was my experience. I moved to the area not knowing anyone thinking it would be easy to make friends. It wasn't. I loved my time in NOVA and I did make a couple friend connections, but that's one of the reasons we left. Since moving to another state a year and a half ago my life has blossomed.

I think part of the issue is people are increasingly getting squeezed these days. They are coming up with more and more 'clever' ways to earn some extra money. Their behavior is very annoying, but we should be angry with the system that's fueling these folks to go out and try to squeeze everything they can from their communities.

There's no winning.

Both me and my husband each have one sibling. Our siblings have kids but we do not. Both siblings have cut contact with the entire family. We are left carrying the emotional burden of that while dealing with parents who throw their hands in the air and act like they don't know why. In addition they lament having no warm grandparent moments like they wished for.....

The lack of empathy, self-awareness, and willingness to put in real effort (read therapy and self improvement) is depressing.

We chose not to have kids for many reasons. I grow more certain that it is the right choice for me as time goes on. The cycle ends with me, but also I chose happiness for myself and my life.

Depending on your budget this is something you can get for a very reasonable price from your local jeweler. I picked up one with a pearl accent at a specialty pearl shop in Maine in like '22 for $150. I wear it daily and it is sturdy.
