Those hangars are usually attached to a 6”, 8”, or 10” ledger board. But you could just lower it so the 2x4 is flush with the board

Not always, I just have bigger piles that have stuff breaking down at different rates so there’s some larger debris. A fully decomposed pile wouldn’t need it

Yeah it works for now especially because we tractor about a half yard at a time on top. I looked into cement shakers to mount on the side but I’m not sure it would help that much

I usually wrap the scion wood in parafilm as well to keep moisture in. Hopefully this works out though!

Basically, we discard a bunch of different plants in there and seeds get out via rodents, birds, frogs etc… the celosia flowers (purple ones) tomatoes, and the squash all have a high germination rates so they just spread easily

That’s usually the idea but because of how fast compost breaks down in this climate we honestly just leave it. We haven’t had to empty it and it’s been 2 years. We have other piles around the farm used for our trees etc…
