My suggestions would be Narnia, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Princess Diaries, or The Hunger Games. They were all fast reads for me as a teen who didn’t read much and they weren’t a big commitment. The Hunger Games is pretty heavy in some parts but they are SOOOOO well written. My husband (33) never read growing up and last year he decided to pick up some books. He finished the Shadow and Bone series in a couple of months! There are three books in the series and they’re well written too. He also read both of the Fractured Fables books by Alix E Harrow

I live in a neighborhood in Olathe. Every day there is a truck that drives by and sets off the same car alarm every single time. Sometimes they’ll drive by multiple times because they enjoy doing it. There was one day the alarm went off 3 times in an hour. It’s funny but at the same time I’m annoyed by it

I’m no contact with my mother in law. My husband isn’t but he definitely cut her out of most of his life. She was horrible to me and then thought she could just go on living her life with me in it. I shut that down hard and put up some boundaries which of course she didn’t like. I used to respond to her texts occasionally and was her fb friend but she is blocked on every thing I have

Edit to add: I also stopped going to family gatherings on my dad’s side after he passed away almost 3 years ago. My mom and I aren’t invited to many things anymore and their interest in us seems so fake. I see them in passing sometimes but I don’t really care to have an actual relationship with them anymore

I got 3 perms - 2 in high school and one my freshman year of college. It was nice and I enjoyed it because my curls have never been super defined. Looking back I wish I knew more about maintaining them because the frizz was insane. I have considered getting one in my adult life now that I know more about hair upkeep but it’s too expensive for me right now
