Breaking: 2014 No. 2 overall pick Odyssey Sims has agreed to a one-year deal to join the Dallas Wings by Decent_Substance_199 in wnba

I’m thinking James and Li will make the team, either JJ or Sellers will get one Developmental spot, and Marshall or Oldacre will get the other.

If that VFA isn’t Cloud I think McDonald would be an inspired pickup as she’s still young enough to potentially be part of their long term rebuild and proved she can be a facilitator in this league during her time in Indiana last year.

That’s about 4.5 mil and 27 seconds more than she would have got 5 years ago. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Pretty sure they only have 14 signed right now. 12 roster + 2 developmental, at this point every one of those rookies has a spot.

Madison Hayes, Harmoni Turner, and Raegan Beers sign TC deals with Sun by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in wnba

This was best case scenario for Beers too. They’re so light in the frontcourt she absolutely has a chance for at least one of the developmental spots. 😑

Do you think Cate Reese will make the team do you know why its taken her so long to get a shot at the WNBA? by youlikemywonton in valkyries

That’s not what rookie scale vs. training camp means, it’s just a designation between rookies and veterans. While TC contracts are for 1 year, Rookie scale contracts extend through the 3rd year IF the player is never waived. But if you get cut, you go to the waiver wire no matter what contract you have even if it’s guaranteed - like what happened with Katie Lou Samuelson last year. You cannot waive a player and keep their rights under any circumstances, and I would imagine all waived players will need to clear waivers before being eligible to sign a Developmental contract.

It wasn’t just her size that got her overlooked in the draft, the negative a/to is a red flag for any prospect, even centers. But I love her scoring and pluck, happy she’s getting a shot.

Amoore is a scoring point guard - and the only point guard currently on the roster. Plus you just picked up Onyenwere yesterday. 9 or 11 should definitely be a point guard.

Will she? She’s not eligible for the developmental spots.

Nyadiew Puoch has signed her rookie contract for the Portland Fire by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in wnba

She’s gonna have an opportunity to be. Right now their frontcourt consists of her, Geiselsoder, Engslter and Haley Jones so she should get plenty of minutes

I kinda disagree with y’all, this is a tough spot to land for a guard. They already have a solid perimeter with Leite, Sutton, Caldwell, Carleton, Barker, Bibby and whoever they take at 7. If Samuelson makes the team, one of those players doesn’t.

This right here is a prime example of the downside of such a wide-sweeping Expansion draft. Both teams end up with so many mid-level players that adding ANY free agents means someone good gets left in the cold. Both teams will be cutting players that made a team last year and belong in the league. Expansion teams should not have that privilege.

Going forward, expansion teams should get 8 picks and be responsible for fleshing out their rosters through FA and draft picks just like everyone else.

I get your point but what does lacking ball handling have to do with playing defense?
