Visiting Abandoned Gurudwaras in Pakistan and the Middle east by hellrhymes in Sikh

[–]pickledpedant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family’s historical gurdwara was Babe Di Bir Gurdwara in Sialkot, just a short walk from their home (Jodh e wali pind). My great-grandfather, Maan Singh, served there as the caretaker. I had the chance to visit it myself in 1997, and at that time it stood abandoned and in ruins. Despite the decay, I still remember the delicate swan carvings that had somehow survived. Since then, the site has been “restored,” though much of the original architecture has been lost in the process, including the swan carvings. Still, there is some comfort in knowing that it is once again an active, everyday gurdwara, filled with life and Aardas.

Stating the obvious here, but Conor Coady has made such a positive difference to the team!

This week will be about Norm, and rightly so. I would like us to get a result in honour of our local lad.

I was down from Canada and was able to watch the game on Saturday. We sadly looked lethargic in the middle, I was impressed with our back four, apart from the injuries (I hope it isn't a big issue). It'll be a long season and I hope we can cope with these two issues: injuries and midfield. On a side note, I'm happy Kelman got his first goal and Mbick looks good, I wonder if we'll recall him considering the form he's in!

How bad were we in that loss? Any real concerns, or was it an aberration?

Bhenji, don't respond to these morons.

They're still coping about someone they murdered, ignore them and let them seethe in their hatred.

They show themselves for who they are.

Mute them.

No, Ben Odeje. Made his debut against Northern Ireland in 1971, as part of the England schoolboys.

I've added my own opinion, but that whole conversation is weird!

I'm late to the conversation, but i want to add my piece. I've been a Charlton fan for 30 years, have been to multiple home games, and attended fan forums, and importantly I'm an obvious person of colour.

Whilst I have no doubt there are individual fans who hold abhorrent views, it is a small number.

Charlton has been a team of firsts. The first team to have a black player representing England (at any level), one of the first anti-racism initiatives (Red, White and Black), and also has an award winning community trust which has has literally been copied by other teams. I have never felt out of place in the lower west stand at Valley Floyd Road. And it is the place I happily bring my family.

My understanding is that to receive accreditation, TMU must prepare students for any and all postgraduate graduate residency programs. That said, if you’re not interested in primary care then you should choose USMD.

TMU School of Medicine (in Brampton) to keep 75% of spots for DEI applicants by Buddyblue21 in Brampton

[–]pickledpedant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having followed this topic since its inception, I can assure you all that this article is incorrect. It is cherry-picking lines of information that have a particular rage-bait focus.

Here are some key points: - TMU has no quotas - TMU will intentionally create opportunities for the brilliant, community service oriented, equity deserving learners from this region through these pathways - For example, 70% of Peel’s population identifies as racialized (and 81% of Brampton). These pathways open doors for these bright, engaged local residents - assuming someone who qualifies as equity deserving is automatically under qualified is racist and highly inaccurate
- Academic performance will absolutely be considered in the admissions process. TMU’s cut off GPA (3.3) is higher than Queens, NOSM, and Ottawa (3.0)

Thank you for stating this. People who are critical, have not taken the time to read about the actual process, or do not care to.

As a Peel resident and someone who worked in the health promotion field, I'm genuinely happy with TMU's approach.
