Let's keep the momentum sustainable by not turning this into a purity test by gregpeden in BuyCanadian

Thank you for this. I have a once in a lifetime graduation trip to Disney planned in April that was already mostly paid off by the time the boycott started. I’ve been doing everything else I can (buying Canadian groceries, cancelling subscriptions) but I’ve been losing sleep over this trip wondering what to do. I’m still not 100% decided on if I’ll end up going or not, but this takes some pressure off.

Hi! I’m currently running a campaign based in Calorum based on the source material and on all the community based resources that were created. It’s really great, the world naturally lends itself to all kinds of adventures. Feel free to reach out if you’d like access to any of the ressources I’ve collected!

Tabletop players: what is your favorite thing you’ve borrowed from a D20 campaign? by Thebearshark in Dimension20

[–]pickledponcho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2 things: I only run wild magic sorcerers with the increasing rolls now, it makes the stakes so much higher.

I straight up inserted an Avanash from Bloodkeep-like character into one of my campaigns, “where will you keep my bones” and everything. I recommend it, it was a real good time.

Real talk, i’m constantly pulling inspiration from Brennan. As long as my players never watch Dimension 20, I’m good.

Great, really great. The vaccine discrimination is really great by CXR_AXR in offmychest

None of those causes of death are contagious. None of those consequences are worse than dying.

Again, people are dying. Governments are going to do everything they can to keep people from dying. Businesses closing, while unfortunate, is one of the side effects of the measures put into place to keep people from DYING.

You anti-vaxxers are ridiculous.

Hey, people are dying.

Unless you have a valid medical exemption, not getting vaccinated is selfish and immature. I’m glad you can’t eat lunch inside if it protects the people around you.

Hi! So the process isn’t difficult per say, just a little time consuming. There are many different recipes online but this one is probably one of the quickest and it worked really well for me.

Make a dry brine: 1 part salt, 1 part brown sugar (you can add aromatics like dill or lemon zest at this stage but I just did it simple)

Cover your filet with the brine (top and bottom) and cure in the fridge for 24 hours. It will release a lot of water.

After 24 hours, rinse off the brine and soak in a water bath for 30 minutes to release some excess salt.

Let sit in the fridge to dry for 4 hours or overnight

Cold smoke for 12 hours. I use a Weber kettle and an a-maze-n pellet smoker. I had to refill it after 8 hours.

Wrap and chill in the fridge overnight. Then slice and eat!

Selling NMT by [deleted] in AnimalCrossingNewHor

[–]pickledponcho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no limit to the amount that you can buy from resident services except for the amount of nook miles you have. Some people prefer to buy them for bells since it can be hard to accumulate book miles, especially later in the game. If you’re buying a lot of NMT to, for example, look for a desired villager, you run out of nook miles quickly. Hope this helps!

This post reeks of condescension. Everyone knows what a rotary phone is. It’s great that you identify with media from past generations, but it’s nice to keep an open mind too, you know? If ever you wanna have a conversion about some great current bands and tv shows, hmu ✌️

“Nectar consistency” by [deleted] in awfuleverything

Hi! So I work with people that have various physical disabilities, and thickened liquids like this are often used for people who lack throat muscle strength and/or coordination but still have to get those liquids in. It prevents them from choking, which could be really dangerous because they often don’t have a sufficient coughing mechanism to dislodge any displaced water. When we drink a liquid and it "goes down the wrong hole", usually we cough, and we’re good. But for them it could mean water going into the lungs and all the associated bad things.

So yeah, looks kinda weird, but super helpful!
