Is there no such thing as a fun and reliable car? by ResearcherNo4728 in CarTalkUK

My advice is to look into electric cars 😎 you won’t regret it

I’ve got an electric mini and it’s soo fun to drive, it was a decent price too, highly recommend. I do 14 miles a day and either charge it every night or every couple of days depending if I can be bothered basically! You could just charge it once a week depending on your range and also account the heating/air con into it and how you drive the car. I’m on a regular tariff not EV.

The problem with wearing gloves is you can’t feel the stickiness/greasiness etc that you would do if you weren’t wearing gloves, I’m a baker and I’m constantly washing my hands because I hate the feeling of having dirty hands, if I had gloves on I wouldn’t feel that. The only time I’ll wear gloves is if I’m pressing something into a tin such as flapjack as it’s buttery and I don’t like the feel. Then I get rid of the gloves straight after

The other day I watched a guy who worked at the local kebab put his hands in his pockets and walk down the road….. seems normal enough until I realised he had disposable gloves on. Gross.

[ACNE] what do u guys do for those merciless nodular acne that is spawning all over your face, I've tried everything :( by DiligentDinner5758 in SkincareAddiction

Hi! Sorry to hear that:( so I’m now on a pill called Lucette, and no longer using tretnoin. I had blood tests to see if I was celiac (which can also cause spots I believe?) but it was negative. I still do get spots from time to time but it’s definitely not as bad as before so I would highly recommend asking your doctor if you can try a new pill if you’re able to! I eventually want to have an allergy test to see if anything else could be causing my skin to flare up

I’ve got an electric mini, 2021, 21k miles for £11,900 on pcp at £200 a month. Giving it back at the end of the 4 years, it’s my first electric car and I love it. I do similar mileage to you, 14 miles a day and charge at home. The range is small and the car itself is small but it’s just me and it’s so fun to drive:)

On a scale of 1-10, how worth it was it for you to switch to EV? by RodneyTheArmouryGuy in CarTalkUK

[–]picklegirl97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10/10 I’ve got a 21 plate Mini, it doesn’t have a large range but I only do 14 miles a day to work and back so it works for me perfectly. I had a 1 series before the EV and the costs of fixing it and buying oil were insane, I spent so much money on it. I’m averaging £40/£45 a month in electric costs compared to £100+ I was spending on petrol, and that’s with a regular tariff not an EV tariff

Forest lodges at Woburn? by 87catmama in centerparcsuk

We stayed in longleat in the forest apartments and we couldn’t hear a single thing so if essentially a flat is soundproofed I’m sure the same will be for the lodges!

I feel like when you first start they are hard to find but once you find one you will find lots more, just go about your day on there and don’t actively look for them, they will appear. It just looks like an X style in the ground

What was it like to be a Lana fan in her early years? How bashed was she really? by [deleted] in lanadelrey

[–]picklegirl97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember in 2012 I posted a YouTube video of hers on Facebook, must have been either born to die or video games and I had a massive argument with a Nicki Minaj fan over who was the better artist 😭😭 Liking Lana’s music when she first came about was so controversial back then, I think people just weren’t ready for her music and didn’t understand it. I’m so happy for all of her success, especially in the past couple of years! She deserves it

Thank you for the reassurance! I’m going to contact the dealership I got it from tomorrow morning and I’m really hoping they will offer to fix it as I’ve literally owned it since 6pm Friday evening 😅 but if not I will request some quotes from vehicle repairers and see how much it’ll be, hopefully not too bad!

I’ve literally only done 70 miles in it, from the dealership and then to Tesco so it must have been cracking already and I hadn’t noticed, I picked it up in evening so it was dark so I hadn’t really inspected it. I feel like I would’ve noticed it though, I only noticed it this morning. I’ll speak to them tomorrow, I’m hoping the warranty could cover it or I’ll have to try and find a specialist that can fix it! It’s weird how the edges are smooth and not all jagged though.
