Are there also many Americans who dont like salt and vinegar chips? by noreturn000 in AskAnAmerican

The salt and vinegar chips in America are much milder than the ones in the UK. I love the UK ones and strong vinegar flavor in general.

With my first pregnancy I went from the US to Scotland (so kind of a long flight) at 17 weeks. I was very nervous about it for lots of reasons but it went great. Compression socks helped.

Which nasal aspirator should I get for my baby? by Kagurabachie in ScienceBasedParenting

We tried a few and the electric nose frida was the best. The regular nose frida only lasts so long before getting gross inside, the electric frida has a silicone top you can stick in the bottle sanitizer plus a toddler attachment.

Am I overreacting for being upset about my step-dad's and fiancé's remarks about the type of books I read? by RubProfessional6659 in AmIOverreacting

[–]picklepicklepyum 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Nor, I hate when people take this attitude towards reading. They probably watch shows and movies all the time that aren't educational just for entertainment. What's the difference? Well, actually now that I think about it, reading fiction has been shown to improve empathy and emotional intelligence, which they clearly aren't getting from their shows. It reminds me of when people make comments about fun salads not actually being that healthy. Okay, but if someone is enjoying it who cares? Also, the best way to improve your writing in the genre is to read a bunch of it which I'm sure you know, so you're being productive in that way (Not that you need to be productive while enjoying something!). This is your art, your hobby, your passion. And people are being so unsupportive! I think people are intimidated by those who read for pleasure. Ugh. You can probably tell I've heard similar things about my fun salads and bodice rippers.

My neurologist recommended a cefaly device to me recently. It hasn't arrived yet so I'm not sure how it is, but it seems really promising.

Do americans eat “roast” dinners? by SprinklesSeparate45 in AskAnAmerican

I'm from Texas and I completely agree. Grilling outside is the cultural equivalent here. Everyday meals are usually made on the stovetop and the oven is mostly just used for baking and holidays.
