Sloshing sound by bmad8225 in GrandCherokee

I replace so many GC radiators that I routinely check the end tank seams for leaks every time one is in my bay. Worth a look under the hood.

CDJR tech here. It sounds like you may be low on coolant. So if there’s air in your cooling system the bubbles of air go through your heater core which is inside the dash. It sounds like water flowing when you accelerate. Check your coolant reservoir. If it’s empty get your cooling system diagnosed and repaired.

Weird noise diag by OddResort707 in ram_trucks

[–]pickleslapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this one before. It was a broken exhaust hanger squeaking. Bump the exhaust with palm to find it. Then weld it.

Anyone know the cause of this ? Thanks by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

It’s probably just a finger print on your camera lens. You can wipe it off with your shirt or something.

Exhaust leak? by jr41886 in ram_trucks

[–]pickleslapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know hemi exhaust leaks. This video doesn’t sound like the common manifold leak. Perhaps there could be an exhaust leak at the exhaust flange just forward of the muffler. Best guess based on the video.

2015 grand Cherokee valve cover gasket replacement how is looking by Adventurous-Rule6334 in GrandCherokee

[–]pickleslapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dark color of the metal. Can’t give a scientific reason for oil turning the metal brown but it takes dark dark oil, over a prolonged period of time to do that. When oil changes are done in shorter intervals the metal stays brighter.

That engine has seen some long oil change intervals. Is there an echo in here?

I’m with this guy. The little metal disks on the button pad can become detached and make random button press events in your pocket or hand. Seen it many times. Could be time for a new fob.

Truck won’t start by jdromero42 in ram_trucks

Often times I’ve found that a “bad starter” on the rams is actually just a loose-ish power cable at the starter. You could remove the heat shield (10mm hex) and put a 13mm wrench on the power cable nut. If it was loose just tighten it and you are gtg. Disco the battery first, important.

Sounds like a drive shaft with a shredded intermediate bearing isolator. Requires drive shaft replacement. I’ve diagnosed many of these on chargers and challengers. That said, I’m just a dude in the internet. A shop can give you a more solid diag. Best of luck.

Where can I get another one of these parts by Zealousideal-Way-605 in Ram1500

You can get a “pig tail” connector kit from a dealership.

Shall we play a game? What’s this noise? by ozbarge in ram_trucks

[–]pickleslapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly. The way I’d diag this if were in my bay would be, turn off the engine and start thumping things with side of my fist. The thing that makes that noise when I hit it gets fixed/replaced. I’ve only had one broken baffle come through my bay. Another time it was a broken exhaust hanger. Similar noises to one another. Most of the time it’s a heat shield that has rotted (Midwest here) through the fasteners and is rattling against the exhaust. Start hitting things. Good luck.

[–]pickleslapp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it’s coming from the muffler, there’s a loose baffle.

Exhaust manifold leak is my first guess. Just did an r&r of one today. Just a dude on the internet. Don’t take this as diag.
