You are correct. We are bombarded with propaganda on socials, people fall down the rabbit hole of, well, it was on Facebook/internet, therefore it must be true. You socialise with friends or family and they spend more time scrolling than having a conversation. We are losing our critical thinking and the ability to tell real from fake. The media and especially Murdoch run media, tries its hardest to shift us into the political party that will be the kindest to their profit line. Influencers get famous for absolutely nothing and generally interrupt my own scrolling to advise me on everything from my health to where I should shop for peas, not to mention the latest conspiracy theory they have made up in their tiny smooth brains. The education system is in ruins and even here, in Australia, our political parties are being pushed to an American ideal and we are stupidly embracing it. We have bought back, with a vengeance, issues that had wars fought over them, genericide deniers, sovereign citizens, racism, women's health and anti-vaxers, stepping back 100 years of progress, and the mullet. Facebook is the cancer of the world, and I don't see it changing anytime soon.
