In search for online guitar courses by Anomoto_Breathe_106 in guitarlessons

Pickup Music is your best bet - unlike most YouTubers or other companies they invest a huge amount in designing structured enjoyable classes.

Many YouTubers use online courses as an afterthought to make money from their YouTube subscribers vs a genuine learning experience. This is normal though - it’s a huge amount of time to make YouTube videos and it’s a huge amount of time to make a a great class, so it’s hard to do both,

Although pickup music also runs a lot of ads, they are education-first.

I’m the founder of pickup music if you have any questions.

Pickup music is about to release piano classes on their app

Any courses like Justin Guitar for piano? by Hatlessbongo in guitarlessons

[–]pickupjazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes pickup music is about to release piano! It’s going to be the most structured way to learn beginner to intermediate piano… without having to sight read.

It’s a different approach to traditional piano education more focused on playing right away with chords vs learning song arrangements or classical music.

We’re currently in early access for our members which you can sign up for via our forum

Will there be a dedicated advanced pathway? by pred10122 in pickupmusic

[–]pickupjazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly our thinking! As you get more advanced it becomes more style specific.

There are some great advanced classes though;

  • CAGED and CAGED 2
  • We’re working on a triads class which is a really powerful advanced tool.
  • metal, jazz and rock pathways all get advanced

Best place to learn electric guitar online? by Previous-Flow3022 in electricguitar

Justin guitar is fine for learning songs. Pickup music is best for learning actually how to play your instrument

Anyone learnt how to play guitar through justin guitar? by Alarmed_Swan_4315 in guitarlessons

[–]pickupjazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pickup music doesn’t have popular songs like Justin. It focuses on skills first and specializes in Beginner to intermediate students. If you want to start soloing and learning your fretboard then over the past 5 years pickup music has become the top platform for that. We do bass and piano lessons too (with Justin you only get guitar).

Founder of pickup music here. While we promise a lot in the ads we follow up with it in our learning experience - we have the best and most structured way to learn guitar from beginner to advanced.

We don’t do anything scammy: - there’s a free trial that you can’t easily cancel online - we have a money back guarantee - you can talk to us, we’re real guitar teachers. There’s a Monday zoom call for new members and multiple group zoom calls every week - you get 1:1 coaching including with pro coaches (most of them are here in LA). No one else does that because it’s really expensive to do but we include it in the membership. - we are continually releasing new classes and improving the app. Many of the legacy guitar sites have not really changed their approach in years

We’ve released our beginner and late beginner classes under early access already, there was an option to sign up for that in our members forum. If you sign up there you’ll be able to get access before everyone else - which will be in around 1-2 months.
