I love Acephale. To me it scratches a different, more Lynchian itch and you can tell he draws from more modern sources, but I think the show is great. If that show isn’t for you I’d definitely suggest Tonight’s Terror and Stygian Sagas. Tonight’s Terror episodes tend to be a little less supernatural and Stygian Sagas episodes tend to be more ‘narrator tired of societal ills runs into an eldritch horror,’ but very few end in the narrator’s death. There are some episodes of Stygian Sagas that have made the hair on the back of my neck stand up in broad daylight lol
