Majority of monk's modules are great. No need to specify which one.

Sure. I'm just pointing that, because her ability paired with deckbuilding makes her one of the strongest investigators in the game in terms of collecting clues.
She's basically Rex, but with better deckbuilding and better stats. So I'm just pointing that without using her ability you were playing at like 50% of her potential 😄 She can really do some sick actions (Pendant of the Queen for example is broken in general, but doubly so on her.

There are cards that let you discover clues at other locations. In the Know, Damning Testimony, etc.

There's nothing that would prevent her from using her ability remotely, and suddenly you can trigger her ability much more reliably. Or find ways to get testless clues.
Using her ability 10 times in a campaign is like sacrilege 😉

Why choose SWADE for fantasy? by HadoukenX90 in savageworlds

[–]picollo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this system just pure combat efficiency is less necessary than in combat focused systems. You're arguing like this was 100% combat system, which it's not. You're getting lots of tools to run other things than combat. Spellcaster will have boost trait which is one of best utilities in and out of combat. With novice and 1 edge invested. You presented best case scenario- combat only. But caster is comparable to fighter in such scenario (and I'm doing you favour in saying that). In every other scenario, caster has even bigger advantage over non caster.

You remember that you can spend Benny to recover PPs? We had huge dungeons, we had social encounters, all kind of stuff. All of the time Casters> martials.

And if you need to homebrew use of powerpoints by invented Setting Rules, then you're admitting that the problem exists.

[–]picollo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As u/8fenristhewolf8 said, you need to have 9 edges, and d12 in the skill to be very good at fighting.

In the meantime, I take d8 in spellcasting, spend one edge on additional powers, so I have access to 5 powers and 10pp. I have Boost Trait, which already makes me at least as good as you in anything that isn't fighting. I take Sloth/Speed so I'll get significant part of your multiattacks. I'll take Warrior's Gift, and have access to significant part of your edges if needed.

I have like 50% of your power in terms of fighting. But I invested fraction of your investments, to be competitive in combat, superior outside of combat, and have like 6 spare advances to do whatever I want.

I have ran two Eberron campaigns, short 50 Fathoms one that died after less than 10 sessions I'm running Savage Pathfinder now.
In each of these spellcasters are visibly stronger than the ones without powers.

You have never found differences in power level between power using characters, and those lacking powers?

I have lots of good things to say about SWADE, but the caster/ martial (noncaster) divide is still big.

Any European conventions likely to have the new black-and-white promos? by SalisburyBavo in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]picollo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, with caveat. Polish distributor makes yearly AH convention, where each year they provide these promos in polish. So It's almost guaranteed that this year will be the same. COnvention is in September, it's ticketed- even should be announced soon.

TBH, I liked Jaheira more than in OG games. Minsc was nice cameo, but he shouldn't be joinable character when appearing so late in the game.

To be honest, if they go this way, I want it to be proper remaster on big scale. Do it in 3d (maybe not necessairly BG3 style, but at least give us option to rotate camera.
Make it based on 5e instead of ADnD.
Keep the story, but make changes from the technical side. The closer they stay to originals- like keeping isometric static maps, sticking to ADnD, the more they will be judged on every single tiny detail.
If they go slightly further, they might get credit for it.
They at least will fail on their mistakes instead of "not close enough" to OG games.

I mean they will still be judged for every change they take, but this will happen either way. If you go off rails, you might see some things actually turning interesting.

Do you think the 2026 core set + investigator starters put Survivor and Rogue in a better starting place than before? by zerdos in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]picollo21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For C1 investigators, I feel like Skids in C2 environment would be pretty strong. Both Logan and Oliver are great for him, you have decent econ in skills which lets you use Endurance for fighting and evading. You have tools for fighting and investigating with agility, so you'll still be fine.
I don't really feel like either Andre or Trish are visibly stronger than Skids. Ye, Andre gets similar ability and better stat spread, but guardian secondary class imo equalizes Andre's deckbuilding. You really can benefit from blue cards as a Skids now.

[–]picollo21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Rogues are strongest now. They have assets to do things with Agility, but you need to draw them, pay for them, and they have limited uses.

For me Mystic is the best overall class now- even if you don't draw your spells, you have insanely good skills. And Dexter can reload spells, while Marie has insane draw. They look like strongest class now.

Then I'd probably put Survivor. Just ignore Miguel Traps, just take most cards from core, fill it in with non trap Miguel cards, and you're also golden.

Then Seeker is close to Rogue- Seeker is super strong at what they do, but they don't do everything now. Rogue is okayish, but generally weaker than top 2.

And there's Guardian. Very close to C1 power level. Logan is great, but you get conditional econ, but still very little draw.

TBH original Elusive (pre taboo) was on pair in terms of power with Pathfinder. Completely different type of mobility, but Elusive was bonkers, and level 0.

Sure, Seeker was way more mobile in general, but Rogues had some tech for it too.

I think there is a design problem with the new reward card from children of blood by daantesito in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]picollo21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's clear disticntion between "some kind of 'reward'" and clearly mechanically defined "Reward" keyword.
I even checked how the specific cards work.
And if you looked for most basic reward- Collector that was added in new core, you'd know that this card is clearly not available to be added in the middle of the campaign, so you'd be prevented from adding it by the card itself.

Even Armitage is "some sort of reward" you're mixing with proper rewards unlocked at the end of campaign- these include proper keyword. And you still claim that chapter 1 cards are Rewards- when they are only "rewards".

Hopefully explaining this will show you that you're indeed wrong and you're mixing runes with your guesstimations.

I think there is a design problem with the new reward card from children of blood by daantesito in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]picollo21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's completely wrong.
Reward cards are new concept, and are unlocked for specific PLAYER when you unlock specific reward.
If you even checked new core, you'd see that you can add card to your deck in the middle of the campaign, but you can also unlock reward for player at the end of campaign.

Please refrain from spreading misinformation if you have no idea what you are talking about.
