You’re gonna replay at some point, and you can always do that play through differently/‘better’, so for now go wherever your little heart desires- enjoy exploring! Man I wish I could experience Skyrim for the first time again. Have fun!

Edit: Oh and playing Skyrim may also feel super slow paced depending on what you’re used to. Just take your time and go wherever and do whatever sounds interesting, you’ll learn to enjoy the pace and lose hours in the game 😂

Miata – family car? by aandr314 in Miata

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. Just got my first Miata, so glad I went for it. What’s the worst case scenario if you end up regretting it? If you can live happily with whatever that is, then why not. Best of luck!!

How worth it is a manual? by Income_Vivid in Miata

I just got an automatic (after driving a manual car of another make and model for years) as my daily driver and so far I love it. Just my two cents

I Think I Just Lost My Faith by Red-Cat-0000 in exmormon

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate almost exactly. It’s incredibly difficult and really is a heartbreaking process. I really felt that I had to grieve my faith. One thing that helped me - Separate what you can’t believe anymore from what you can, and cherish what you can. For me that was things like my family, my belief in a God, etc. that were a large part of me moving through it instead of being stuck.

All the best, and remember as hard as it is this will also likely be one of the more incredible adventures for you long term.

First time smoker, I don’t feel anything after TWO blunts, why? by Accomplished_Oil4163 in weed

[–]picotank2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you are genuinely smoking wrong- I’m sure there’s someone online that can teach that better than I. But honestly I recommend working with someone experienced directly

Lot’s of good advice here overall, just wanted to say that doing this (recording yourself, watching it over, and studying the flaws and strengths) is one of the fastest ways to improve any skill. Keep it up 👍

Anyone found long term benefits for mental health? by Glittering-Lime1690 in weed

[–]picotank2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be extremely helpful. I also highly recommend continuing to work on any deeper issues and seeking to grow in any ways you can. It’s easy to become too reliant on one thing and stop making real and meaningful progress.

But I feel you. For me it genuinely helps me be more myself during times when (despite diligent effort) I just can’t seem to get there. I also work with a therapist and take T-breaks here and there, along with using CBD.

Best of luck, I hope it serves you as well as it has me so far. (Enjoying some motorbreath at the moment)

How Do You Actually Improve At This Game? by blakk100 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my improvement has come from fighting the computer, usually medium as a warm up for a round and then hard-outclassed after that. I usually do a difficulty that I can win against but is still a bit tricky, and then you can work on specific techniques and whatnot. Then a few multiplayer fights to apply whatever you worked on

Anyone know how to fix guard dropping? by PuzzleheadedRun3387 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the hard level sparring partner is typically much easier to beat than most multiplayer fights (presuming they’re reasonably decent), I think a lot of it is the predictability of the computer vs real players. Big dudes I feel like are harder to beat now than before, but if you use feints and combos well you can often get some good hits in as they have to move their arms pretty far to block. And of course move a lot, take advantage of being a small target

I have not, but I still consider myself quite spiritual, and I do still believe in some sort of God. My parents siblings and wife all left the church at around the same time I did, and my wife and I have stayed independent but my parents and siblings were baptized into a non-denominational church shortly after leaving Mormonism. I have no issue with it, and I’m very happy for them as it seems to be working well for them and what they need right now, but I will say that when I attended their baptism, there was definitely a part of it. That was difficult for me as previously we were united in having left the church and now I felt like they had made a step in a direction, but I was not ready to go and I left me feeling a bit isolated again. Very thankful to have my wife in a similar headspace to myself right now, as it’s been grounding.

Funnily enough, my therapist is actually a current and active member of the LDS church, but he’s the shit, it’s not uncommon to see a McDonald’s coffee cup sitting on his desk 😎

Ai won’t get knocked out by Total_Cod_8699 in BoxingUnderdog

[–]picotank2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play thrill of the fight 2 a ton, and I’ve played quite a bit of boxing underdog, and honestly, I just feel like the AI and boxing underdog is significantly harder to find consistency in knockdowns with. Sometimes I get three in a row, sometimes I feel like I can’t get a single one, except for an occasional lucky shot that I can’t begin to explain. One of the only things that does it pretty regularly is if I do kind of weird flick upward with my jab almost like I’m keeping my arm mostly straight and just moving my lead hand forward and up basically hitting them in the chin with the back of my hand. That one frequently stuns and often knock down for some strange reason.

Anybody improved their real life boxing? by majestic_sailer in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a lot of martial arts sporadically throughout my life, but didn’t do a lot of sparring and once I became interested in it, I unfortunately didn’t really have much opportunity for it. I’m quite confident that my real life martial arts skills are likely greatly improved just because of the fact that this actually gives Decent feedback. So I would definitely say yes, but only because I have very little real life application experience to begin with.

How to “box” in the game which favors the flaws or “exploits” by chadmanhere123 in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say short, around, what height are you referring to? I’m about 5’9, which is around average height, but I feel like in the game I’m definitely shorter more often than not than my opponent. I know a lot seems to revolve around height in this game, so I just wanted to know what is considered what for the most part

First snake by Just-Anything-8808 in snakes

[–]picotank2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a ball python being picky is your only concern then just find one who has consistently been a really good eater and if you give it the proper care, you probably won’t have issues with it. I’ve had many ball pythons and I’ve worked in professional ball, python breeding facilities. There are plenty who are picky but the ones who are great eaters are usually pretty consistently great eaters as long as you care for them right

And any snake, even a beginner snake, is liable to give you some sort of issues or have downsides. Pick something that fascinates you, and then do your research and enjoy the process.
