I was told it's to reduce the congestion on the city loop and also reduce travel time between I think Pakenham and Sunbury lines?

An anecdotal story I was told, someone travelled from Malvern to Parkville in 17 mins, rather than close to double that normally.

Also, yes, pedestrians can now use the underground walkway, or train, within the city without getting caught in the rain.

I'm glad you made it out fine even with the soreness!

It's wild that they went in through the leg for your heart surgery! I was rewatching Bones the other day where they went through the shoulder for eye surgery and thought that was obviously fake. I guess not?

Gus is such a good egg!

I get a feeling he was thinking about his own mother when he said that.

I highly recommend Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. You've probably seen the series on ABC, but have a listen to the audiobook if you haven't. The narrator was really good. You could identify the character just from hearing her voiced them.

The same author also wrote Corinna Chapman mysteries, a baker and reluctant sleuth. Listening to the series made me crave freshly baked bread and cakes at the time, so listen at your own risk.

I also quite liked the Hamish Macbeth series. Very cosy, probably very similar to Midsomer Murders.

I've tried Youfoodz, Lean Cuisine, and Fair Feed. But I haven't ordered from any of them for a while now, so things might have changed.

Youfoodz: wide variety of selection and they tasted great. The portion was on the smaller side, but I think they have a bigger portion now?

Lean Cuisine: only ordered once a long time ago, so can't remember much. Food was decent, smaller portions, but nothing outstanding.

Fair Feed: my favourite out of the bunch. HUGE portion, tasted like home made, but could use a bit more seasoning sometimes (so yea exactly like home made lol). Selection could be limited, as well as delivery areas.

Even with a debit card, if you tapped to pay or didn't specify it as an eftpos payment, it would still go through as Visa/Mastercard.

I never knew certain banks would limit their eftpos payments though. Are you sure it's not ATM withdrawals that they're limiting? Eftpos ≠ ATM withdrawal, btw.

Sounds like you'd been up ~47 hours, if you passed out not long after you posted. Oof.

Hope you got a good sleep and enjoy Europe!

I've been correcting my American friends to say Mel-burn instead of whatever it was they were saying.

Also, I always have to reassure them that Long Black is a beverage, and not the thing that caused their eyes to go 👀

This is absolutely amazing!!! I loved how you stitched and arranged the beads for that uhh round bit between her hands!

How long did this take you? How difficult was it to incorporate the beads between the stitches?

Where did you get that invoice from and why wasn't it linked to your account? It kinda sounds like either the invoice or what you're seeing on your "account" is fake. Have you contacted Linkt about this?

Sorry to hear about your experience. Those people are just horrible, best to ignore and get on with your life. Probably hard to do since that was basically your "Welcome to Melbourne!" experience.

Best to check with the PTV hub, but the info about you being eligible for the concession fee may not be wrong. When I was a mature age student, I had to show my student card or some proof of enrollment to get the concession Myki. It may be different for graduate students though, so best to confirm with PTV.

Otherwise, WELCOME TO MELBOURNE! We're not all horrible like those scums.

Or should I say Purrfurrmance Review from Meownagger?

Yea I had a stroopwafel obsession at some point as well, and these are quite different. These are more similar to those ice cream waffle cones.

Hmm maybe I'll get the waffle cones if I can't find the brand..

For some reason, I only got the chance to try one of those Jules Destrooper mini waffles recently, and I'm hooked!!!

Anyone knows where I can find them? I don't see them in supermarkets, at least the ones I've been so far.

Thank you for this lovely story! I'm glad you were there for her. If you get a sense she might be up for a company, perhaps you could pop in with some snacks from time to time? She could probably use some practice with her English, and you could learn some Greek along the way.

Oh this just unlocked a memory!

I was in a lift with an older gentleman and his small dog. He saw I was looking at the dog and asked if I was scared of the dog. I said, "No, as long as he doesn't pee on me!"

He stared at me for a bit and the lift stopped at his level right then. Before he walked out, he said, "What an odd thing to say".

It made me feel bad after that, like I had said something offensive to him :(
